Re: Renault Duster : Official Review

Now that the new Navigation system has been officially launched, the prices have been updated. Duster 85 RxE (O) - 10,88,900 [Bangalore]
I think it was around 10,68,900 before this. A 20k hike. That takes the on-road price in Bangalore for this version to ~13.45 L

Could other owners please report if they have come across same/similar issues? If yes, how did you get these resolved?
I get the same creaking noise from my front doors (both) every time I accelerate from stop position or brake. My car is under service for some body shop work currently and I have asked SA to check this noise also. I am getting the car back on friday, would report what happened eventually. Btw this is the second time my doors would be undergoing treatment for this issue.

What is RXE (O)? Is that a new variant launched? Or did you mean RXL(O)?

Looking at the website, it's RXL (O) which gets Multimedia Sat Nav system.

My question: Is this normal for all cars to have this rusting issue so soon?
Does this have any impact on steering? Kindly advice.
My Duster's steering connector is rusted too, but maybe not as much as yours nariyani. Check out the picture

The question is, will it be covered under warranty?

Now this is going to be a matter of concern. If no spillage is found around the coupling area, then it's a material defect.

A simple oiling or greasing will solve this but such a rust shouldn't happen in the first place.

Is there any chance of wet floor mat rubbing the coupling? This got to be reported under warranty as any extreme deterioration for this critical a part can be a disaster waiting to happen.

Is this a camera effect or an inferior part getting in? Also it looks like chemical/acid rust than the normal iron flakes.
This looks bad and dosent seem to be the camera effect, you can have a comparable analogy between a galvanised and non galvanised iron piece.

Anybody else come across this?
Exactly the same issue. There is some noise that comes from just above the RVM
but not always and goes off just as you mentioned.

Another creaking sound is from the dash, something like plastic rubbing plastic.
I had mentioned these problems during my second service but the effort put in was not upto my expectation.

I will take my car this weekend to a person outside the workshop to get these problems sorted out. Will update.

Regarding the spongy brake issue many have complained in this forum, please bleed your brakes to take out the air trapped.
Experience learnt from the long association with Tata and Mahindra cars.
I never had this problem with my Duster and brakes are spot on.

I think there is no chance that a wet floor mat would be rubbing this part. Atleast in my car, there has been no spillage of any fluid whatsoever and the area is completely dry. I will go to the Renault ASC in the next two days to see what they say about this.

I got my Duster's first service done at Rama road.
I am satisfied with the service and staff there is cooperative.
Will go to same service center for 2nd service.

Re: Renault Duster : Official Review

I got my Duster serviced at the Gurgaon workshop.

What a sham in the name of 1st service. They topped up the windshield wiper fluid container. With tap water.
And supposedly cleaned the air filter.
Gave the car a thorough wash, but no underbody wash, since the hoist was faulty.

And that's IT. The 1st service is over !!!! and this took 5 hours.

Absolutely disgusted with Renault Service. A CERTAINLY over priced car, thats made worse with their pathetic A$$.

On the creaking issues: I am getting a creaking from Day1 from somewhere in the rear. Looks like the bumper.
From a few days, the front seats have started creaking too! and the car has barely done 3K kms, on excellent roads till now.

GAWD !!!!

Did you get your brake bleeding done from service center or from outside? Did you do it yourself?

Please elaborate a little.
