30,000 looks pretty low for a 2013 model. I believe that Reno is already offering special scheme in April wherein insurance is waived off and there is an exchange element in there too. Effectively, is 13.48 the price you are getting after the latest scheme adjustments?

In any case, I am not a very big fan of buying 2013 models when we are already in April.

Fully agree with you here. Renault has thought about all other eventualities except auto lock once the vehicle starts moving. Many a times I have been distracted by lack of this feature at signals when hawkers are hell bent on pushing their products into your face or passenger face and you suddenly realise that the doors are not locked. Truly frightening under the wrong set of circumstances.
I have crossed the 55k mark and time for a tyre upgrade . For months I have been driving with a mild but persistent front right wheel shake. I have given my Duster to the Renault service centre in chennai where the bearings, knuckle assembly etc were replaced but the shake remains. So, the service personnel checked the new vehicles lined up for delivery and 4 in 10 Dusters have a mild shake in the front right wheel only. As the performance/handling was not compromised in any way, I accepted their explanation and continued driving without any consequences.
Now, the tyre dealer is not willing to cover the tyres under warranty if I drive a new tyre with wheel shake and Renault is not able to give me a solution. Wat do I do????

Did you mean 55k or 5.5k? If it is 55k then I suppose it's already served you well for a long time. If it is 5.5 then I don't know what to say. Rotating the tyre is a stop gap solution but if there is a fundamental flaw then the company should do something about it. Perhaps even recall the vehicles and fix the problem.

Its 55,000 kms. He is the first and perhaps the only BHPian to have reached that milestone on his Renault Duster.

As our fellow bhpian rdhawan15 mentioned(truly humbled to say the least) it is indeed 55000 kms and way beyond what should be done on OE MRFs. My query was actually related to wheel shake. Renault cant figure why this shake exists. Have any fellow duster owners faced such similar issues?

Re: Renault Duster : Official Review

I agree that Renault should be able to identify the issue and solve/correct it.

Meanwhile, can someone please explain how to reload the spare wheel in the cradle? Is there any video of how it is done? I have never done it or even seen it being done. I have no clue how it is done. I believe releasing the spare is easy. But what about putting it back?

Re: Renault Duster : Official Review

The front passenger power window can be operated even when the power windows are locked. THe ASS says that this is normal & 'works as designed'.

True?

Yes. The power window and central locking work for rear doors only. When locked, front doors can be opened from inside only.

Change the rims, try another set of stock alloys, convince the service rep to get alloys from another duster just for checking. Or some HRS alloys and see if the vibration is still there. Mine does not have any shake what so ever.

Re: Renault Duster : Official Review

In my researches, came across this 2011 NCAP result

Also this warning and this rejoinder to the warning.

Finally, Renault's response.

Could not find a 2014 test result for either the Duster or the Terrano.

The long & short of it, I think the RxL+ and Option versions and above are safe enough from all aspects. The base versions seem to offer sufficient passive safety to the occupants, not so much the others like pedestrians.

Re: Renault Duster : Official Review

One million units of the Duster have now been produced worldwide. Of this, India has rolled out over 85000. Surprisingly, the report states that evolved markets like Germany & France are taking well to the Duster.

Re: Renault Duster : Official Review

The Duster sold in continental Europe is made in Romania while the ones sold in UK are made in India. Here is a sample of our image in the UK, so far as manufacturing the Duster for the UK market is concerned. Doesn't do our national pride any good.

This may or may not be representative of the popular sentiment in UK about Dusters, but generally speaking all over the developed world where it is sold, it is seen as a poor man's vehicle and meant for people who can't even afford a used car.
