I suggest you must visit service center and check your vehicle thoroughly.
Does it happens in both low and high beams?
Thank you, Divyankar.

Yes; on both beams.

I did some generic search - apparently this is an issue which crops up in vehicles with electric power steering. It is not just limited to Dusters or Renault.

The consensus seems to point to a weak/ weakening alternator. There is also a set of opinions that suggest to ignore it as the fix might make things worse.

That said, I am planning to take it to the service centre to get it on record & to see if there is any quick fix.

Dont know how to show it to them in daylight though!

Mine is RXZ AWD 2015 with 8K on the odo.

Everytime I hit 90Kph a very mild but distinct whining sound (like whooooo) starts from somewhere above the ICE AC vent (or engine? - I could hear it in my left ear and the passenger could hear it from his right ear), The noise peaks at 95 Kph and drowns thereafter at 100Kph.

Though mild this is very annoying since this is my usual cruise speed on Chennai - bangalore highway. I have a feeling this is a "resonance" whine when air enters the cabin from outside through a some random gap at a certain speed (certain pressure).

What do you think? Has anybody heard it?
I was facing this.

I bought cushioned tape from Daiso Dubai. 5m roll costed about 100 INR. This is typically used in househould to seal windows. Worked well to insulate from 90% of the wind noise.

Will keep you folks posted on the longevity.

Re: Renault Duster : Official Review

Hi all,

From the past 05 months have been in company of my new Duster 85 PS RxL.

I have been very happy with my purchase except for the paint quality! My Duster is in woodland brown color and the coating is not very thick IMO. The other day my kid happened to rub his bicycle handle on the door side and it immediately scrapes of the paint layer putting an annoying scratch! He was in fact only walking with his bike past the Duster!

Any other owners of Duster share the same feeling about the paint quality? Will any aftermarket protective coating make any difference?

Hello experts,

A cousin of mine wants to install pete's (or similar stuff) on his 110bhp duster. Car is 18 months old and is within warranty period. Would like to know the pros and cons.
Thanks in advance

Renault is giving free anti rust treatment for the duster.

My duster got the treatment, when I took my car for 40000 Km service.

I too got the free treatment during my last service. The only down side is the smell inside the cabin. Its sometimes over powering my car perfume especially after parking in the Sun.

Hi Deepesh,
Any idea when did they start giving this free treatment? I completed the 20k service in January first week and nothing about this was mentioned.

Hi

Not sure about that. Mine is a Aug 2013 model and the SA checked his system and confirmed that my vehicle was eligible for the treatment. I was worried whether the door pads will be opened, but it was done by spraying through the holes in the doors.

^^ These 2 are the ones I can recall instantly. Please search using the keywords "Petes diesel tuning box" and "Racedynamics" to find more reviews of these products.

Re: Renault Duster : Official Review

OMG, am I missing something here.

There is not a single reply on the news of AMT Duster launch which I believe is a reasonably big and important news as I feel the Duster us much loved car on T-BHP.

I think 6-Speed AMT DIESEL at 11.7 Lac is a seriously VFM proposition.

Re: Renault Duster : Official Review

Really nice that they finally put an auto transmission on the Duster. And a six-speed at that!

That fella who put the front chrome grill needs to be shot. In the face. With a chrome plated bullet.
