Congrats on booking the Cruze and welcome to the Cruze club.

IMO, please avoid the garnish around the tailights as the name almost suggests, it will look garish

Just ensure the car delivered to you is recently manafactured and also the tyres are not more than 3-4 months old ( you can view the week stamp on the tyres) even if you plan to get rid of them immediately.

Btw, how much are the Primacy costing you? And, the OTR price?

Congrats again and look forward to your detailed ownership thread here soon.

Some points to ponder :-

1. I am little surprised how that dealer is quoting Rs.8650 per tyre whereas it is priced above Rs.9500 if I remember correctly when i checked last time. I even got to hear from others its over 10K per tyre at some dealers. Did you check if they are 2012 manfacturered?

2. When I changed my Cruze tyres to CPC2 this is the deal I got :-

I agreed to take 2009 December manafactured tyre in Aug 2010 when I bought the car and got a great deal. In exchange paid only Rs.10,500 for 5 brand new 2009 Dec manafactured tyres

That's a special price to me only as he is my old classmate , the shop price to general public is 9300/.With car prices touching the sky I don't think anyone can get 5 tyres changed in 10 k in present times. I wanted to know if I am getting the right buy back for Jk vectras.

That sounds about right. In fact that is a very good buy back price. IIRC buy back for Mobike's JKs was 2000/- per tire. I got around the same 1500!
My tires cost me 11500 each. CPC2 price quoted was 11300/-. But that was higher size.

That's incorrect. I exchanged my JK Vectra's for Rs.4200 against a Rs.4500 MRP when the car's odometer was just 200kms and paid an overall additional price of Rs.10,500 for 5 CPC2's so my deal for them was simply mind blowing

Oops! My mind was playing tricks with me. Just checked my bills. I got 3500/- for my tires. Just got confused a bit.

@drchernish: Anyway, the deal you are getting is sweet. Go for it.

Re: 2012 Chevrolet Cruze : Official Review

That's very strange, I have taken the delivery of my Cruze LTZ in Hyderabad and have got my Vectra's changed to Yoko's. The buy back I have got was 5200 Per tyre. I have gone for 215/60/r16 Yoko's as I was looking for comfort as well as mileage..

There are more significant changes expected in the top line model and the price will go north again.

I was nearly on the verge of booking the present new Cruze AT but was advised against it as the "real new Cruze" is set for launch this year end. However what baffles me is that why would did not Chevrolet launch the complete upgraded vehicle instead of having 2 launched withing a short period of a few months.

Anybody has any news to share on this subject ?

If its a confirmed news that Cruze will be going through another Facelift then eager to look for the new look and something which i would be looking forward to buy once back in India next year.
Reading the reviews of Elantra, Cruze and Jetta, the car which suits my needs in terms of Automatic is getting nailed down to Cruze.
Also the review of @mobike008 on his cruze does give me the sureity that the car is definetly a buy (he and i earlier had Viva CRDI )

Nobody has spotted even one test mule of face lifted Cruze. So I think GM will not launch face lifted Cruze around Diwali. IMHO, the face lifted Cruze looks ugly with wierd fog lamps inserts. The current version looks much better. The only good thing about the face lifted Cruze is the MyLink infotainment system.

For a back to back comparison posting few pictures of cruze 2012 from web.I think the facelifted version looses some grace which is present in the present model

Re: 2012 Chevrolet Cruze : Official Review

anb - Again received confirmed news from a higher source(s) in GM Corporate that the company is indeed planning launch of the new Cruze towards this year end. The newer variant will have many more features and priced higher. However it could not be commented on the exact price hike as the same would depend upon the over all price increase in diesel cars later in the year.

I so wish that the Jetta AT was priced a bit lower. Would have def been the safer buy considering GM's ever changing plans.

Since I have already booked the car and anyway I cannot afford to go any higher I am going to wait for my Black pearl(yes the naming ceremony has already taken place).Talk about proactive GM dealers they are sending me the demo cruze to use while my car is in transit.Yipee
