Congrats on the car, looks great. Its a 2012 vehicle, since its missing the sunroof and the better instrument cluster.

re: BMW 320d & 328i (F30) : Official Review

Hello folks
I'm facing a peculiar issue
Sometimes there is a creaking noise from the steering at very slow speeds (crawling)
Took it to the Navnit motors workshop and it mysteriously disappeared only to reappear a few days later

Anyone's faced something like this?

Also I feel that the engine noise has grown louder almost raspy

Irritating to face this within 2500km & 3 months of ownership

I am facing a strange issue. Whenever i am doing high beam and then dip right side xenon stays in high. Then if i honk it is coming down. Took to osl kolkata. They reinstalled the complete software. Now the problem reduced 50%. Meaning that 50% times both lights dipping ok but 50% time right side stays at high. They offered to change right headliggt assembly under bsi. But i am sure problem is somewhere else. Anybody faced similar issue?

Many congratulations Joy. I am myself contemplating to buy a similar beemer, could you please let me know how much did you get this beauty for (PM would also work)?

Hi guys, any idea on how much is the market price for 2012/2013 3 series prestige/sports/luxury line. People are quoting an average of 27 Lakhs for these models/make. Location is chennai.

Also if I am going for a pre owned, is it a safe bet to buy from BMW dealers? Do they come with warranty?

Guys, another small query, I am seeing Bmws and Audis going at throw away prices(a 2013 3 series for 7 Lakhs) which were damaged in chennai floods. Is it safe to buy them. Will there be any after effects like engine problems etc if we buy them?

Preowned from a BMW is safe but expensive. Better to find a good car and get it checked by the dealer.

As for flood damage - run - you will suffer premature wear, electrical niggles and a lot of wasted time, loss of confidence etc.

I am facing a similar issue with regards to the creaking noise. Not sure if it's from the dashboard or the steering. Will get it checked during the first service.

Let me know if you find a solution to it.

re: BMW 320d & 328i (F30) : Official Review

3 series facelift has finally been launched initially in diesel avatar. Petrol to follow soon.
While BMW have retained the same 2L diesel engine, Power and Torque figures have been improved - 190PS/400Nm.

M-Sport variant is decently equipped with color HUD, Navigation but is priced in GT territory at 44.5 L
It is not clear if the M-Sport variant comes with M-Steering wheel with paddle shifters.

Its an all new diesel engine which debuted with the X3 lci, then the 520d then the 320d GT and now the 320d lci. Its the B47 and the refinement is apparently much better.

Paddle shifters are there on the M sport variant.

Thanks Ajmat for the information. I think it's better to avoid cars damaged in flood specially the Germans.

These Germans sure do know how to pamper you with small reminders and nifty features. I started the car after a long time today and the gong came with a triangle on mid, got worried but laughed to see the "washer fluid low" warning. I use the wash/wipe a lot and many times got stuck in other cars when the washer tank goes dry, wipers start wiping dry wind shield and am left gritting my teeth.

It gobbled 4 litres of water and added Proklear windshield wash with it, as i do with my other cars.

Car is doing fine and am nearing 4000 kms now, can feel the engine being a bit more vocal as compared to earlier. This car is at home, be it open highways or in city bumper to bumper driving, this 8 speed ZF is sheer brilliance, always in the right gear with seamless shifts and the low end torque of 320D is bang on.

With the facelifted 3 series launched, any idea on how much discounts are offered on the older pre face-lifted 3 series? How much is a substantial amount to bargain for?

~11lac was the figure on the sportsline/luxury line. Around 7lac on the prestige.

Thanks for the information. Will keep this in mind when negotiating.
The sales representatives do not give any hint of discounts when i enquire about the 3 series.
