Re: Maruti Alto 800 : Official Review

Hi
Sorry for posting back to back in this thread.I have a query. When I checked behind the dashboard of my car, I couldn't find the cabin air filter. Attaching some pics. Does it come with cabin air filter from factory??. Mine is 2020 model. As you can see in these pictures that there is no cabin air filter beside the blower. The provision for cabin air filter is in sealed position

Hi Kpzonwheels, so it doesn’t come with cabin filter from factory. I had the same model as you (Dec 2019) , so I have some experience with this. One of the first things that I wanted to do after taking delivery was to install the cabin air filter, infact I hardly drove till I got it fitted.

It’s an easy DIY that you can do. You will have to cut open the top part, you can do it with any knife, I used a sturdy kitchen knife. You can watch this video to get an idea of how to cut -

Please do not get the part number that he mentions in that video or even in other videos, none of the videos are of the BS6 Alto. Ask me because I ended up ordering 3 different ones and had to return 2
This is the one that you will have to get and it fits perfectly along with cover/seal - https://boodmo.com/catalog/part-cabi...on_r-31745651/

There is a part number for Alto 800. But where it will be installed or how, I'm not sure. May be it needs cutting, since they are providing separate filter door for the blower.

That part number doesn’t fit Leoshashi.
Yes I have tried it, the cap doesn’t sit properly and filter was small.
I tried a total of three : 990J0M79GS0-010, 990J0M53MS0-010 and 990J0M67LS0-010.

Only 990J0M67LS0-010 fit perfectly, so this is the one that anyone with BS6 Alto needs to get.

As bhpian Yakuza said it will need cutting. Is this the part number for BS6 model??. I couldn't get the catalogue of the BS6 alto in boodmo. It only shows the pre-facelifted alto's catalogue

Thanks again. It says cabin air filter of wagonr. I will order that through boodmo. My car already clocked 650 kilometres as I was unaware of the fact that it doesn't came with cabin air filter from the factory.
Ps: Mods please merge my post as I forgot to multiqoute as I am new here.

Re: Maruti Alto 800 : Official Review

Hi
I ordered the air filter suggested by you through boodmo. It came today, but it is at least 2 cm wider than the gap for the air filter. Attaching some pics.

Then you must try 990J0M53MS0-010 as BHPian Yakuza confirmed that it was smaller. Also if you ask me, 53MS0 is the filter recommended for Alto.

Shashi

My apologies Kpzonwheels. Not able to check again because I have sold the car.
Did you see if the cap/cover fit? I most certainly used the same cap from that filter only. The cap from the 53MS may not fit.

I took a look at my boodmo order history and I guess I have used a combination of the filter from 79GS and the cap from 67LS, while having returned the 53MS.

Re: Maruti Alto 800 : Official Review

No, I tried the filter part. But it didn't fit in there, so I didn't try the cap. I returned both of it, as it came in a single package.

Re: Maruti Alto 800 : Official Review

Antenna for the radio assembly got broken in our alto. It is more prone to breakage beacuse of the longish nature. Is it possible to fit the rubber type antenna seen on the Ignis, swift ??

Re: Maruti Alto 800 : Official Review

Brakes on my alto is feeling spongy. The pedal travel is very long and it only have bite in the lower end. It has run only 2000 kms. Car is only one and half months old. What would be the problem?? Can anyone using alto BS6 model comment on their brake pedal travel and bite
