It looks good and the original bolts fit properly on it , they dont go too deep inside the holes, just as perfect as OEM alloy. Done 10000 kms and no issues touchwoodclap:. |
Good news! Which brand and how much did they cost? Pics please!

They are HR alloys, initially i used them with OEM Bridgestone tyres 235/70/R16 and recently i have upgraded to 255 which has improved the high speed maneuvering. The set of 4 alloys cost me around 22K.
Here are a few pics.
I purchased an XL alloys and could not get 6.5 one. I fixed 7 and the tyres jut out without even putting an extender. Also a part of the chassis had to be slightly folded to ensure that the tyres don't touch it.
@vipulkambhoj are you sure that you are not messing around with warranty issues?

I check with TASS here to be sure. As long as there is no changes to the originals in the storme the warranty remains. I still have the original wheels kept with me just in case.

Hey neel385,
If you want to dispose your Storme's alloys, I could use them for my ARIA Pure. Interested ? 09560004618.
Sandy
The truck is running fine except for the following abnormal observations:
1) Power window lock button LED glows all the time as well as rear windows remain operable from rear seat (whether the button is pressed or normal).
2) Outside temperature indicator shows "0C".
Can it be due to some incorrect setting on my part?

Neo wheels seem to have a few designs in 6.5J spec. But the problem is, even if your pcd/wheel holes/rim width match most probably the offset wont! :Frustrati
So, it's anyway a deviation from OEM spec.

Thanks for pointing that out. Firstly it is a difficult task to locate alloys with a good design in 6.5J spec and get the pcd matched. The spoil sport comes after that with the offset of the wheel. And gives the TASS an opportunity to simply raise there hands on suspension warranties.
This is the reason I went for OEM alloys albeit the Dicor ones.
Why do they bring this stupid spec as OEM?:Frustrati isn't that against fair play policy of business. Or is it that they are too smart to sell there alloys this way hiding behind warranty issue?

Tata Code of Ethics:
http://www.tata.in/aboutus/articlesi...ode-of-Conduct
Specifically Clause 3 on Competition:
"A Tata company shall fully support the development and operation of competitive open markets and shall promote the liberalisation of trade and investment in each country and market in which it operates. Specifically, no Tata company or employee shall engage in restrictive trade practices, abuse of market dominance or similar unfair trade activities."
I don't know about the spec being against the code in letter, but it seems to me to be against the code in spirit!
My guess is that a large number of people who buy aftermarket alloys are interested in protruding tires. As a result the focus of the market is on off-set alloys.

I think Aria uses 17" wheelss. Storme runs on 16".

The 17" are only with factory fitted alloys IIRC. The steel wheels look the same that come on the storme. They should be 160pcd in either case so the bolts should match.
Couldn't get to the specs sheet on the aria site so can't confirm this 100%. Maybe existing owners can confirm tyre size on the pure variants.

Only ARIA pride comes with 17". Pure is 16" only
Update: A weekend trip helped clock another 1000 & the odo has now just crossed 13k. FE for the trip was 13.41 kmpl.

Thanks, @rkg. Personally would prefer to move from 16" to 17", if I had the Aria.
