Re: Tata Safari Storme : Official Review

In Safari DICOR ...

While you drive, switch ON the headlamp
In your parking, switch OFF the headlamp, ignition OFF, take out the key, open the door, Follow Me Home comes on [Headlamp ON].
Unlock using the remote, Follow Me Home switches OFF [Headlamp OFF].

This is what I do every time after I park my car just to save a 30 secs of battery consumed by Headlamp and I dont need it within in my campus anyway.

Prem.

Re: Tata Safari Storme : Official Review

I do exactly the same thing Prem.

@ Condor -Thanks for the post. The Storme seems to be better on the ' follow me home ' option, given that it you are allowed to choose it, as opposed to the current Safari, that forces itself on you and we fiddle, with the unlock to get the lamps off and then, lock it, as explained by Prem.

On storme its better also because we can turn the lights on while coming back to the car, when it's parked in a dark place.

Rumour: Tata Aria & Storme to get Self-adjusting Clutch?

Aria and storme are to be equipped with SAC from a german manufacturer. The source told me storme is getting shipped with it. Is it true?

Can someone confirm if the analogue clock on the dash is illuminated or not? Mine (EX) doesn't light up but the other day, I saw a VX at the toll, where it was lit up. I would have loved it to be lit up in the EX as well.

It is illuminated Sasi. You need to get yours checked. I have an ex and it lights up.

Yeah its illuminated with a lovely light purplish hue (looks very classy as commented on by many), and you can even adjust the intensity (3 or 4 settings I think). I have an EX too. If your Storme has the clock, it must be illuminated.

Re: Tata Safari Storme : Official Review

Friends, I've finalized on buying the Storme EX very soon but I'm holding back after I heard rumors that Tata is planning on getting a refresh interior pretty soon. I've tried to look it up but could not find details anywhere yet. Anyone here has any inside scoop of it ?

Does it make sense to hold on my purchase for a few months ? Please advise.

Although, its always nice to get the refreshed version, you might not get the current offers/discount on the refreshed version. At least not for the first few months or so. I would personally say, go for it right away. No point waiting based on just rumours.

I don't think there are any credible offers on Storme as of now. Probably a discount between 15000-20000, depending on the offer of the month and your negotiation skills.

It may be worthwhile to wait for the new edition of Storme.

Hi Sasi,

They found a faulty clutch bearing and lubrication issues. The same was done and now there is no more of the irritating noise.

Also the following issues were rectified
1. Was experiencing slow pick up. There was an error with the EGR - rectified
2. Sound in slow speeds from the RHS tyre - sorted
3. Outside smell - still there
4. AC not effective - not tested as yet as it has become cold again

Will be going to Agra tomorrow and hopefully get to know of any pending issues.

Can you explain more about the clutch in terms of what they did to rectify the issue of sound? Did they change the bearing also? Thanks.

Was it the Clutch Release Bearing (CRB)? If so, did the noise in your vehicle start with a slight grinding / rattling sound while shifting down? I ask since I can also feel a slight CRB noise when I downshift from 5th to 4th or 4th to 3rd while slowing down. I will be getting to the 5000km service in about 10-12 days, so would like to correctly identify the issue and present the same at that time.

Also, since you are in Gurgaon, it may be interesting to meet up. I live in Sector 56.
