Interesting. Another one gone. Since it is a vendor supplied item from Valeo, try to see if it can be sourced from the aftermarket. Valeo is from the Anand Group of companies which make Gabriel etc. and have a very strong aftermarket section.
I don't think Valeo would make just 150 to 200 pieces per month just to supply to the storme. |
Same part is shared with Aria, Hexa and Storm. (2015+ versions)
13 to be exact.

Excellent picture! I remember I had seen this being installed.
All these 3 are actually disjoint items screwed together. Do check if any components are separately available. I think they are on Boodmo. Most of the items except the actual solenoid are actually also field serviceable if people are willing & not necessarily irreparable. |
Only assembly is available.:Frustrati
The EGR is being removed from the storm & Ill try to open tonight.

Any chance of getting hold of the vehicle ? A list of parts that can be salvaged can actually be posted here. Am sure some Storme owners would like to get working stuff.

It was bought by a nagpur based guy.
Update: Opened the EGR.
The valve pin is broken.:Frustrati
So the valve is in closed position all the time. If we put the cap in place the EGR will work again.
Simple thing but very difficult to do.
Just like this video.

Happy to see that you have opened and found out the exact issue.clap: Usually no one dares to open costly parts like this.
Please share the pictures once you have fixed the cap back, it will be really helpful.
Seems like a fairly simple job for a proper tech. Just a careful drilling of the cap and shaft. And another counter sink drill of the cap. Tap it and install a Allen bolt.
Should hold well. Infact this should be brought up to Tata and Valeo. This is a manufacturing defect. Not a wear and tear item. That casting of that pin cap isn't correct.
The EGR is repaired and fitted to my TorqueMonster.:)
Lets see how long it works.

That is one of the neatly done 2-din after-market fitment on Storme. What could be the cost of the job.please:
NOTE FROM SUPPORT Please refrain from quoting a full post. Also, it would be a good idea to install spell-checkers and use punctuation and capital letters when required.

Please ping @Varun560061 (he is a newbie, so not yet able to receive / send PM's)
Odo at 80.5k, and another service due. Dropped the Storme at the A.S.S on Friday. Radiator fluid had been leaking, and the fault was a cracked hose pipe - at the engine end. Part was not available, so waiting for it..
Got the Storme back today after the servicing. The pipe distributing the coolant had cracked - not the rubber tubes, but the fibre part in centre. Total cost - about 10.7k including 5.5 lit of coolant and 1661 for the Assy Spider Hose.
A pic of the broken part - after taking it out. (Note - pic edited to align pieces)

The recent servicing was also done in preparation for a long drive, and now back after a 1700km trip to native and a quick dash to Banashankari (Badami). Lot of interior roads with rough sections. FE was 14kmpl. Odo now at 82512. Reliance diesel, and System-D.
And a recent pic - while running around...

Quick one-day drive to Channarayapatna yesterday. BLR-CR Patna - Shravanabelagola - Bindiganavile-BLR. Some interior roads and the early summer heat. A couple of pics from the trip:

Here's my 72000km update.
1. The rear ac unit has started making a horrible whistling, hooting kind of sound |
I did some work on the speakers in the car yesterday and today when dad took the vehicle out from the parking complained that I messed something up and there’s a sharp high pitched noise in the car
I sat in the car for a while and it came back, it wasn’t the audio system but was the rear AC .
Exact same problem you were facing
Our VX 4x2 is now at 76950 and running happy except for these noises from the rear ac.

It has also started making some kind of gurgling
sound after the car and ac is switched off. |
Even the gargling noise is heard after stopping the car.

doors are not making any noise (except the famous TATA tailgate, of course!). |
Our tailgate refuses to close properly unless pushed a little harder than when new.
I expected it to be a lot sturdier now that it lost the spare wheel from it.
We told our T.A.S.S and they aligned it properly they said.
I don’t know how exactly but it was a lot better after that.
Both of our keys have holes in them due to wear and greatly to blame is dads driver in UP who used his nail to press the buttons. They have big holes in them and I tried changing out the key to a new one bought off amazon but I couldn’t get the metal part of the key into the new one. Need a new key from Tata but they don’t have stock. But the remote on both keys is fine
Our explorer turns 7 this December .
And we have learned that these things Happen as a car ages. This is the longest we have kept any of our cars.
And it’s special to all of us.
Leaving with a few pictures of our beloved beast.
Dusty due to a recent road trip:D

Just recently, Harish Subramanyam of one of the Bangalore groups got an Android double-DIN unit fitted into the centre console. Varun's brilliant work here has made it a top-notch fit. |
That is absolutely amazing!
Can you please share more details and pictures of the process if possible?
Totally stunned by the work! clap:

Did changing the injectors help in getting rid of the knocking sound?
Our storme is doing the same.
It’s there most of the time during idle and driving.
It gets faster with rpm increase.
But sometimes it’s not there.
99% of the time it’s knocking.
