A Storme VX 4x2, Urban Bronze, upgrades are, Michelin Latitude Cross in OE spec, the car came with the Blaupunkt touchscreen HU, I got rear headrest screens and a reverse camera complimentary from the dealer. I just bought some decent rubber floor mats and I'm satisfied with the package.
It's been a month today and the vehicle has done 5300kms already.
Congratulations SriHari. I did see the pictures on the other thread as well. Like Prajeesh says, its time for a quick meet.

And i must also add, Black Storm of yours is still a looker, as good as new. Am sure you will have some head scratching days on which Storm(e) to go with.

Re: Tata Safari Storme : Official Review

As earlier highlighted by some users, I'm also facing trouble in playing music through USB. Sometimes it works ok.. but often it goes into infinite searching mode while browsing through the folders, and never comes back (& I never do unsafe ejects). Though the pen drive becomes usable again after addition / deletion of some files, this behavior is still unacceptable.
Has anybody found the solution to this problem? Can I avoid this by switching to a better (brand / specification) pendrive or is my HU faulty?

I was told by the installer of the accessories guy when he was fitting the headrest screens in my Storme to use a lower size pen drive to store and play movies, cartoons, etc. (4 GB as against 8 GB or higher) for the same reason. He says bigger sized pen drives tend to make the system slow and unresponsive and cause it to hang sometimes. Is that true?

I have tried other drive with this HU, but to same result. But I didn't try any of these drives with other system (my Santro HU doen't play USB!). With PC both are working fine, One is 4 GB (Sandisk), other is 1 GB (Transcend) drive. I have only one folder level in these drives (5 folders in root), but system hangs while scanning to folder no 3 or 4.

I am using drives upto 16GB. When there are too many songs, itt does take a couple of minutes to index the songs.

Did you try to format the drive ? I think you will be using FAT file system on the drive.

Congrats Hari! So, now how do you decide which one to take? And, why 4x2?

Yes you got it correct.

2-Din Driver Info System, NAVTEQ, 150bhp, Harman Kardon system, TataBlue 5.
Expecting the above to be there in Storme aswell, adding to fixing known issues of Storme.

Eagerly waiting for the arrival of new Storme

What is TataBlue5?

Don't know of any known issues of Storme that have not been fixed by now?

Improvements desired could be many/few. But issues?

I wonder if it would be possible to pump up our beasts with some 150 bhp steroids as well ...... (reliably of course - otherwise I am most satisfied with the current 140 horses)

I'm confused. Is this different from the Bluetooth that the Storme already has as part of its Alpine HU?

Re: Tata Safari Storme : Official Review

Should be the same in functionality, but its just another Marketing stuff.
In cars where we get in-dash infotainment system these Bluetooth is added, which people can stream audio / attend call's with buttons from Steering.

Functionality wise its all same.

We can expect the desired changes mentioned in Vistasp's wish list. Since a Storme could be seen doing test runs with red registration plates, we can expect the minor changes/upgrades soon.

Dear Bawa Ji THANKS

I am also facing the same. I have tried 3 size USBs and this is a problem with all. While I was reading the instruction manual, I came across software update tab which can be done through the website. There are lot many software available but I do not know how to update the HU. Any idea?

Yes I'm using FAT system formatted drive, and Alpine manual (pg 25) says that it supports FAT 16 / 32 for USB memory device, so shouldn't be the cause.

Even if firmware upgrade is the solution, IMHO it should be better left to be done by TATA (Alpine) than doing yourself, as long as the HU is in warranty period. That way you're safe against anything going wrong.
