Yes it comes with Bluetooth, but no phonebook sync.So caller number only comes in display.Mic has to be fitted somewhere on sunvisor, doesn't come with the HU.
Steering mounted controls are comparable.Today I faced issue with the controls first time, doesn't respond.(Not a big deal as per the dealer).will rectify it next week when I visit my city.
Best feature of this head unit is that there is a camera option which u can turn on while playing songs in background and you can see whole rear traffic while you are in traffic jams (All bike walas scratching your bumper can be caught red handed )

Has anyone faced water from A/c condensation on the floor just below the glove compartment. Saw few drops of water. Service centre is saying thats normal. No convincing answer.

That's common in Honda cars, nothing to be worried about!

Is it a loose connection or something?

Don't know, but I've heard the same from many Honda owners. You may ask the dealer.

Delivery Blues

I had ordered an Amaze VX AT in Carmilion Red Pearl for my daughter in law for in late October January delivery. Now I am told by the Sales Manager that Honda is not delivering any this month.

Is it true? Can someone please check from the dealers esp in bigger cities.

Also, a Dec 2013 mfg. car may be available. Any changes in 2014 specs?

You may like to contact the Honda sales official Mr. Sharad (09811166755) who is looking after Kanpur area to get the correct position. Honda VX AT is available in carmilion red colours at Eastern Honda dealers in Kolkata.

re: Review: 1st-gen Honda Amaze (2013)

Amaze sale:
November : 7598(Diesel 5318, Petrol 2280)
December : 4458 (Diesel 2618, Petrol 1840)

Amaze sales are down in December mainly for the Diesel variant.
Could be because of the awaited launch of New City, discounts on DZire or the NVH levels of Amaze diesel.
A lesser decline in petrol numbers suggest the NVH issue as the main cause, because other than the NVH issue & a little too plain interiors, Amaze beats DZire in all respects.

PS: The November Diesel:Petrol ratio was taken to be 70:30 as told by HMIL during the launch of New City.

I am quite sure its due to Honda prioritizing the new City over Amaze for production. Honda will be compelled to put some numbers of the new City on the road in every state since its a new launch. Amaze will definitely be cannibalized by the new City, but I expect the former' number to bounce back when Honda sorts out the capacity constraints.

Definitely. I just read newspaper reports that Honda got 10,000 bookings for the City. They probably plan to create some flutter by ensuring people start seeing the New City.

Although, it's quite interesting how the waiting period for Amaze is close to 0 even with the production reduced. This could mean that the demand has not really sky rocketed.

That said, its clear Honda CANNOT afford to hike prices like Ford did for the EcoSport. With an additional new plant, they cannot have a portfolio with market duds.

Please don't forget that car bookings come down in Dec, because many people would like their car with the '2014' tag as it would (perhaps) mean a little better resale value. Hence I wouldn't read too much into the Dec numbers.

"Having a portfolio with market duds"?!? Really? In my personal opinion, that's the last thing Honda would have on their minds, with the very successful Amaze (in spite of whatever it's detractors are saying), a well received City (another blockbuster, especially now that it has a diesel too, with the much loved and respected i-VTEC), and a slew of launches in the year (new Jazz, new Mobilio, etc.).

The GM of the local dealership has got involved, and he is trying to sort out the mess. He has involved corporate Honda as well. So let us see. Obviously I cannot get the car from Kolkata but the information will help. I will get the GM on the hooter.

No responses to the query regarding changes in the end 2013 and January 2014 versions!
