Re: Volkswagen Polo 1.2L GT TSI : Official Review

Completely underwhelming.

At least give us the full cosmetic update VW! - The headlights, taillights, ORVMs and probably upholstery. Doesn't even seem to come with the hand rest as previously rumoured.

To my untrained eye, I think the rear head rests are now the L-shaped ones, what do the experts say? The grille looks different with the lower slat in chrome while the upper two slats are plain. Still has the TSI badging on the rear pillars, ugh..

Looks like they want to rope the Indian customers in with slight updates each year, wonder how effective would this be?

Prithwi, could you help with European sources for the GT cluster with blue needles? Looks like I will have the Euro lamps for sale pretty soon!

Could we see this on the roads by May/June? That's what my guess is.

They seem to be getting the entire color palette for the Tsi this time - earlier it was just red, white and black.

New niggle in my TSI

Hey,

Ok My 5 Day old GT TSI is rattling! I am shocked. The rattle seems to be coming from the door on the driver side. Its more to do with the Hard door beading which sits on the door. As when I open the door slightly the rattle vanishes. Has any one faced this issue? What's the solution.

Another thing I noticed is that the Audio system sometimes refuses to play music from my phone although it shows paired and connected. Any solutions?

Audio system woes can be resolved by turning on ur bluetooth in the phone, before u turn on the car. Works like a charm.

I too faced rattles in GT after completing one highway trip on not so good roads. They basically laminated the upper part of door !!

Hey Sahil,

Can you elaborate little more on what they did? As in any pics to show what this lamination is all about? I wanna do it too. Cant take the constant rattling in the car. Also being a new car I don't want t to sit in the Workshop for long, so how much time did the lamination take on your car ?

Any idea of revised prices?

Guys, I saw in another thread that Polo prices have been reduced by upto Rs. 31K. Any word on the revised prices for the GT TSI?

New item for your reference:

Re: Volkswagen Polo 1.2L GT TSI : Official Review

Hi guys, Had a heart break today. Was travelling at around 60 kmph when a large stone fell from the lorry in front. Tried to evade it but somehow it scrapped my right side running board. Though no damage was there to the doors or underbelly, a portion of the running board has been shaved off.

Now its a eye sore. Can anything be done, need experts advice. Also, what material is it really made of as it looks like it has been shaved with a knife.

Re: Volkswagen Polo 1.2L GT TSI : Official Review

As from the pics posted from indiancarsbikes earlier, I do see some very relevant changes that should have been part of the first launch. The head lights are dual parabola and rear seats do have head rests like that on Laura. I would certainly be happy with these two additions and they certainly are worth waiting.

@drpudhi, running board seems to have a sticker like coating as part of rough road package. Do post some pics of the damage, though its painful.

There is a test drive Polo GT Tsi sept 2013 model, done 8500 Kms. They are quoting 8.8 Lakh, OTR ( with free insurance & some little freebies). The current price of a new polo GT tsi is about 9.3 OTR. Is the deal worth it?

Thanks in advance

TD cars are driven extremely rash and a mere 50k off for an 8.5k kms run car does not make sense (for me at least). Just stretch a little more and get yourself a brand new GT TSI.
