Asking because our brilliant roads of Mumbai, need engine braking and there is a lot of pressure on the brakes.

Contrary to that I am having a lot of engine braking since the last annual service on my Polo. Did speak to the service advisor about this and did a longish trial ride.

I am experiencing downshifts by the DSG in drive mode quite often as compared to what it was before service.

As per the technician, the latest software upgrade calculates speed, wheel rotational speed, steering angle and brake pressure to calculate which gear the car should be in.

For example, if moving at 80kmph and I apply slightly hard braking for a moment, the gearbox will shift from 6th gear to 3rd and if I release the brake at around 60kmph, it will upshift to 5th while simultaneously blipping the engine rpm twice to shift from 3rd to 4th and then from 4th to 5th. The rpm blip does not cause any jerk or felt in the cabin and is only heard by a keen driver.

Hope some of the friends are experiencing similar behaviour by the DSG in their cars.

For the small stuff like bump stops, bushes or even the Euro air channel/guide, Boodmoo would be OK. But I would definitely not recommend it for critical components like this. Besides, I'm not even sure if Sachs can be procured from Boodmo.

You will have to identify a reliable FNG in Goa for the parts. I know of only one workshop that specialises in aftermarket/OEM/performance parts - It's called Unimek Racing Goa and they are located in Mapusa. I do not know them personally and I have not visited their workshop either. Not sure of their exact location but they may be able to help you out with your requirement.

I'd get the handbrake fixed first (since it's a mechanical problem) and check but it's pretty likely you have two separate faults.

I really love this car! It CREATED the segment that cars like the venue, altroz, etc are now getting into i.e. small hatchbacks with the convenience of an automatic! Huge mode potential and the timeless looks are a huge draw. The only reason I chose the Ignis AMT over this is due to the low height which is not really senior citizen-friendly. All in all lovely car!

If the car is under warranty, try Philips ExtremeVision or Osram Nightbreakers. Same wattage, but more light output.

The other cheap option is a relay with 90/100 bulbs. But this is technically illegal for road use, and no idea if this will damage the stock reflectors.

But, yes, you are right. Unlike some other tales on the forum, the car is driving and braking normally. I have not attempted to test the ABS. I would feel very stupid, though, if I did have one of those accidents that ABS could have prevented, and I was driving knowing it might not function.

The handbrake thing is a pain. They made it hold really well at the last service, and now it feels like something just stretched. I manoeuvrer on a hump driving in an out of the house, and park on a slight slope. Currently leaving the car in gear as back up.

After 5 months, finally got the time to take to do a highway run on a work trip - Bangalore><Chennai. I’ve done over 40,000kms on this stretch in my XUV in less than a year back in 2017 and I had a smile on my face after the trip in the GT this past weekend - thoroughly enjoyed it!

The PS4 shoes are such a good investment on this car. Almost the entire trip was in wet conditions. And I was pleasantly surprised by the braking and handling overall - did its job on Sport mode, no complaints whatsoever! I just happened to get the 3M underbody coating done a few days prior to this trip and the road noise was considerably less.

Only gripe is the fogged headlamps once I got back home, ugh!

Do you mean something like this? I committed what I now consider the cardinal sin of dragging my feet getting a faulty ABS sensor replaced, and this happened. No one (including myself) was hurt thankfully, but the car spent 2 months in the workshop and came back with a whole new front section, including a new turbo.

I hope you know that you can get the headlamps replaced under warranty if they are fogging up in the absence of any physical damage like cracks etc.

The car is at the workshop now and will be diagnosed tomorrow morning. By the way: the ABS sensors are apparently 5k each!

One abs sensor replaced.

Additionally, new windscreen wipers and handbrake not holding on a slope fixed.

Total bill including tax was Rs.6,447.

Somebody somewhere (not sure it was even a VW thread) said that if an abs sensor fails, the others will soon. The service advisor said that is not his experience. Hope he's right!

Next thing is tyres. 5 years old and looking it. Wouldn't feel good about driving my GT like a GT, which I don't, really. Much.

Yeah, lots of sources have mentioned that it will be getting a 1.0L 3-cylinder engine, which they have internationally. It will have a higher state of tune(115Ps, 200Nm) than the current gen 1.2 TSI. Not sure about the dates though.

Other than the engines, I doubt there's going to be any other changes as they very recently "launched" the "facelift".

Any particular reason you're waiting for the BS6 in particular? You just might get some year end/BS4 stock related discounts on the current model, if you're lucky enough.
