Hi guys, not sure if it’s still a valid question to ask and the right thread for it, by any chance is the new Polo coming to india? and say, how far do we know about the yes or no of it. Somehow, I am unable get my eyes on any another car in this segment, thus this question, Thanks for your input.

Mostly not. I think it's mainly due to the fact that VW won't be able to justify the increase in price because of the new gen being over 4 meters in length.
I think that's one of the reasons why they're now focusing on the premium sedan segmet, because it's easier to market.

I glanced at both VW and Skoda sites the other day: no small hatchback on either. Tragedy!

Re: Volkswagen Polo 1.2L GT TSI : Official Review

Recently switched up to paddle shifters. I think this is a 100% must have for all GT owners. It completely changes the driving dynamics of the car. Having the ability to hold the gear to almost it's redline and then feeling that DSG shift after you pull on the upshift paddle is something else. Ordered a set of extensions so that I have a bit more surface are to use my fingers on.
This was one of my most sought after updates for my car ever since I purchased it.

More to come.

I've never driven a car with paddle-shift levers. Those look impossibly small!

No, they cover the entire back side of the steering spokes. So if you hold the steering at the half way mark (which I think is the most useful position consider the Stalks also are within reach), there is enough surface to the shifters.

Also pressing from the center gives the most tactile feel to it.

Shifters with this car are good, you don't need to redline, for that there is sports mode! But the swiftness with which you can just shift down and then hold that gear for overtaking is amazing.

Ahh, right. So the sticking up bit is more like a label. Thanks for explaining

They aren't that small, actually. I'd say around 4 inches in length.
Although it would be advisable to get a set of paddle extenders just to add more surface area for you to blip up and down.

Advice needed!! Getting a 2015 55K driven Polo GT TSI. Worth it? What should I look for? Read some concerning reviews abt DQ200. How do I know its going bad. Someone mentioned keeping car in D and holding the brakes in city stop-go traffic destroys the DQ200

I think if you completely depress the brake and hold it, it should be fine. Half depressing the brake (where the car slides couple of inches if the pressure on the pedal is reduced) would be bad.

I own a 2015 GT TSI and I've kept my car very well. Mostly not let anyone touch it.

At 70k kms the DSG isn't in showroom condition for sure but there are no serious problems either.

When starting the car after some time, the DSG takes a few seconds before I can slot a gear, otherwise the indicator flashes. The shifts aren't as smooth as they used to be, but still good.

I don't think there is anyway to check DSG health, but you can see clutch health by checking how much of a crawl effect exists. Also to check whether there is any clutch judder by trying to pick from standstill at medium pace (not slow, not fast).

Re: Volkswagen Polo 1.2L GT TSI : Official Review

Hi ,
Just a quick question. On a up-hill, if I release the brakes the car hold's for about 2 seconds (giving me time to accelerate) before it rolls back. Is this the expected behaviour.

Yes, it is. But if you are parked on an uneven surface, but not up hill (I.e. not inclined) the wheels will roll back, then using handbrake is the only way to stop it from rolling back.
