Re: Volkswagen Polo 1.2L GT TSI : Official Review

The GT TSi with the upgraded alloys have started to arrive at the dealerships. Price OTR in New Delhi is reported at ₹10,21,000/- against the ₹10,10,900/- for the MY17 but with the 15" alloys. MY2016 price was ₹10,07,000/-

Now only if someone could confirm the DOHC upgrade, it will be decision time

I think this was a typo and the MY17 GTs will have the 16" Alloys, unless I have got my lines crossed!!

Guess he wanted to convey that there are some MY 2017 models with 15 inch wheels too released (Jan month) and those versions are priced 10,000/- lesser than the ones with 16" wheels.

That's quite a VFM proposition if VW is charging only 10K more for 16" alloys + tyres! Just want to check whether there is any feature deletion compared to the previous model (with 15" wheels).

What's the tire size for 16"? Has the sidewall height changed?

I reckon the tire size now would be 195-55-16. I could be wrong though!

Cheers

Will find out. My Jetta came shod with 205/55R16, so maybe it's the same size.

Taruun bro, i am pretty certain the above tire size wont make it to the Polo. Its either going to be 205-50-R16 (highly unlikely going by the limited options available in that size). I am betting on 195-55-R16 which would be a good trade off in my opinion between ride comfort and handling.

Cheers

Re: Volkswagen Polo 1.2L GT TSI : Official Review

Hello GT TSI fans,

Just got news that the dealerships are going to receive an e-mail on Friday about the exact (other) changes apart from the 16" alloys.

Though they are doubtful about the Reverse parking camera and the armrest, so most likely the only upgrade is the wheel size. Let's wait for another day and hope for the best

Cheers!

Then the GC will increase by ~9 mm. Hope the Dynamics are not perceptibly spoilt.

And if we go by what is written in that link, there are no other updates. 12K premium for bigger wheels (and better looking too IMO) is not too bad but neither is it wow!

Polo had been getting more than one update every year. Going by that yardstick, a reverse cam a start/stop button was expected

Re: Volkswagen Polo 1.2L GT TSI : Official Review

More importantly, the tyres are now Apollo Alnac 4G (as per the picture in GT145's post) instead of just Alnac, because Apollo does not make Alnac in 16", I suppose. That 4G makes a whole new tyre, one that is supposed to be good, according to the tyre experts here in team-bhp. Hence a tyre upgrade immediately after purchase may not be necessary.

Re: Volkswagen Polo 1.2L GT TSI : Official Review

Have driven 45k on my polo gt tsi. I have been experiencing jerks on gears D4, D5 and D6 when I slowly accelerate. They stop as I press the pedal completely.
Sent the car for the service and complained the same. They checked and found nothing but upgraded the software for the dsg as I was told.
The car felt fine for a few hours, but I am facing the same issue again.
Has anyone experienced the same? Any help what it could be?
Thanks

The only jerks I have felt are the usual downshift from D3 to D2 in slow moving traffic. Esp when I am coasting with no Accelerator Input and the computer decides to downshift to avoid stalling. It doesn't happen if I happen to brake to slowdown.

Whats your usual driving pattern? Taking her out on the highway for a good sporty run and keeping RPMs in mid range (but not constant) helps fix a lot of minor niggles with engine response and also let the software re-learn your driving style.
