I mean simple but important quality checks like just checking if everything is screwed properly just like the engineers intended.
All I'm saying is, overlooking such things now, may lead to problems eventually. Take the XUV 5OO for example. The Ecosport too, like the XUV is a complicated piece of kit after all. |
I guess Mahindra and Ford QA process would be in a different state of evolution. Even a Mahindra for the XUV 500 a lot of what we call quality issues were mainly 1) Poor product design and 2) Poorer quality production of certain ancillaries.
In case of Ford the level of localization will increase in the future but they do have an international quality benchmark original component to compare the EcoSport with, while Mahindra was starting ground up with the XUV for the first time in India.
Neither Ford nor Mahindra would skip a quality process just to delivery products faster though what happens with their ancillary partners cannot really be guaranteed to that extent.
I also agree to these view that it is extremely highly unlikely that an manufacturer will resort to lowering quality to deliver products faster.
In case of Ford it is even more likely as just before the launch of Eco sport they have upgraded their factories and these kind of investments are not done by fly by night operators. So there is absolutely no chance that there will be quality issues if there is more supplies. That way it will Mar the products future too and EcoSport is an important cog in Ford's future in India.
Has anyone anywhere taken delivery of an Ecosport 1.5 Manual petrol... or even had a test drive yet?

None of the 1.5P variants have the TiVCT badge. Maybe saving a few bucks on the already thin margins.

That color is stunning! Absolutely stunning. Even though I've settled for Sea Grey, but undoubtedly, black shows the Ecosport's true character!
Congratulations! :thumbs up
All variants bookings have been closed in Hyderabad for Ecosport at Mody Ford as of now. Seems like it will be the same case across the all Ford dealerships until Ford clears the backlogs and have a clear clarity on delivery timelines.

Car makers generally don't badge the lower variants. Maybe, that the reason why TiVCT badge is missing. I don't know if its cost cutting or to protect the 'image'.

Good observation, only Ford can explain the logic behind this. In my opinion, the other variants are properly differentiated, so no need an extra badge. If they put a badge, it is a waste. By the way some manufactures put both the badges.
Got this from another forum. Spare parts comparison list of few parts. Almost in line with the Figo :thumbs up

I would still say the prices of parts for Ford are expensive than Maruti. Recently I had to change my power window motor for the driver side window and it cost me 4700 which I felt was too expensive.

Do agree some parts will be expensive but Maruti service charges especially the labor is high. Anyways, let's get to see some of the experiences of people after getting their Ecosport serviced.
