Wow, that's an awesome deal. I've overpaid significantly (>10k) by going via the dealer. Anyway, water under the bridge, and experience filed away for future use

Congratulations, finally!

The black is a neat colour, and is one of the few where the chrome around the grill really works (since the front appearance is overall muted with black body, black bumpers, and black grill).

We look forward to the obligatory ownership review.

Re: Ford EcoSport : Official Review

Was at SC ford dealer today.

2 deliveries were scheduled for today. One was a trend and another a Tit+

Test drove the Titanium+ Diesel. TD car had done 4200kms

1. Gear shifting was a breeze. Smooth shifting all round and smooth power delivery.

2. Discovered a new feature. Car moves at specific speeds in different gears without stepping on the accelerator. The car gets to a specific speed in different gears.

2nd gear: 25
3rd gear: 30
4th gear: 35
5th gear: 40

3. Brakes were very responsive.

4. Sync pairing up with iphone was a breeze but wasn't able to recognize voice commands. Call Home ended up as Call Rahul, Abdul, Mom.

5. Feels small though but higher stance makes it feel larger than it really is.

6. My needs are driver driven for one person at the back. Lots of legroom with passenger seat moved all the way in the front.

Re: Ford EcoSport : Official Review

Yesterday, I got a call from Ford ( Chennai). They wanted to know if I had writtent to them about a complaint. This happened 20 days after I had written to them. When I told them that I had already cancelled my booking, the only question was if I had received the refund for the booking amount.

There was no attempt to know the reason behind the cancellation. It seems that they have now got used to getting a lot of cancellations and it is something that does not bother them anymore.

There's a way out for that - at least for frequently used numbers

like prefix 1 to home in your phonebook entry . Give a command "call 1 Home"

2 Dad, 3 Mom etc

It works - duping sync ;-)

Came across this Youtube link on Ford India's Facebook Page:

Now, this is one awesome way to ensure that the bride comes home in a new ride! Hope Ford takes notice of this.

Re: Ford EcoSport : Official Review

Mud Flaps for Ecosport is now available for Rs 450 (non-OE) in ebay India.

http://www.ebay.in/itm/New-Ford-Eco-...item417727fced

I have ordered one and awaiting delivery. I skipped the essential package and hence without mud flaps now.

While I respect your choice and decision, I'm curious: why didn't you opt for just the OEM mudflaps, while skipping the rest of the essentials pack? They cost ~Rs. 1300 (which is a significant difference, I agree), but look nicer because they're contoured with an angular look that suits the car very nicely. In fact, instead of just ignoring it, for the first time I actually admired the design of mudflaps!

OEM mudflap from Ford (angular design):
