Dont worry about the steering, it weighs in supremely well at speeds, have done 1200 kms on hills/highways at good speeds and was comfortable with the steering. Figo would fare far better due to the hydraulic steering though, feel and feedback of a HPS can never be matched by an EPS.
Yes driving it yesterday at slightly higher speeds did feel reassuring. It feels good.

It could be because the sensor is placed on the dashboard (I think) rather than in the cabin. So the actual temperature the sensor measures could be 23 while the driver and passenger feel a lot colder. I felt the same in my short drives so far.

Re: Ford EcoSport : Official Review

I see there is a little slash in prices in the new prices uploaded on the Ford India website update as on 01 Oct 13.

Is it true that the Keyless entry is available only on Titanium (O)? I thought it was available on Titanium as well. Anyone to confirm?

Keyless entry is available on titanium (O) only NOW.
Earlier they used to have it in titanium also.

Re: Ford EcoSport : Official Review

Just wondering,

Do all the windows of the Ecosport roll down on a long press of the unlock button on the remote and vice versa?

No there is no automatic window rolldown feature (with the remote) in the Ecosport.

No it does not. Even one touch up/down is only available on driver side.
My Vento has this remote opening and closing of windows, all 4 windows have one touch up/down. Its a useful feature but hardly any company provides it on all 4 windows.

The upper segment Skoda vehicles all have this, along with all premium brands.

Just this morning, a rather hot day on the golf course, when we finished our game, we were fiddling with this very feature using our remotes from a decent distance, on my Yeti and my friend's Q3.

Both vehicles come with the same underpinnings, Haldex 4x4 system and engine, the 2 litre TDi CR.

The Q3 belts out 177BHP and its little cousin the Yeti, 140BHP.

We had some fun comparing vehicles.

The one thing the Q3 does is pass my lateral Golf Bag Test because it has two nice recesses on either side and its boot's flat surface even with the seats up, is quote a bit larger than the Yeti's. This is partially because the rear has that sloping design unlike the Yeti whose rear has a flat vertical design.

Nice little AWD's both. In general I am pleased that my LittleBigFoot gives me most of what the Q3 does, but at half the price...

Yeah it is there in all Skoda cars, even Rapid's middle variant has this feature. As you said, its a very useful feature on hot days, just open the glasses from a distance and the hot air vents out.

Totally agree, infact i was looking out for a used Yeti when the delivery dates for my Ecosport were being delayed but i was not comfortable with a used Skoda, got a very good car for 14 but alas it was without the Skoda shield. It is a very capable and practical car.

If you compare the A4 (140 bhp)with Jetta, shares the same engine, same underpinnings, Jetta has a superior DSG box but still costs half of A4, those going for the Audi, its mostly for the brand image and snob value and that is a big factor in India

Re: Ford EcoSport : Official Review

Has any fellow member fitted an armrest for the driver's side?
If so could you help me regarding the details of procurement and fitting please?
(Pictures of the finished job is also appreciated)

I too was shocked!
Absolutely no shame in publicising wrong and false information!
Nice of you to notice it on time and caution others!
Mr Srinivas indeed is a man of quality work and should be credited for his excellent work!

My Ecosport Tdci's first ever tankful to tankful reading.

First fill ODO : 35 kms - 48 lts
Second fill ODO : 755 kms - 44 lts

Mileage - 720/44 = 16.36 kmpl

City 20% - Highway 80%

Good?? Bad?? Ugly??

It's definitely not good. Today I did a 200 km trip on the highway driving sedately and the MID was showing 19kmpl for the trip. The same stretch in dzire diesel used be around 22 and i10 kappa used to give around 18kmpl.
