Shipping is free to India through it.(beyond an order value of $15)
It takes around 20 days to reach usually.

Sorry, I didnt mean for the Ecosport. I dont have the car yet so not bought anything specific to it yet.
I got other stuff like decorative plasma lamp, laser pointers & other fun stuff from the site.

Hey guys,
One important point to note while ordering from Aliexpress.com is packaging.
Its one of the worst I have seen, not even fit for domestic shipping.

So make a request regarding packaging while ordering.
There is a provision for special notes to the supplier.
Hope it helps.

Couldnt agree more, i ordered my Fog Lamp DRL assembly and the packing was shoddy to say the least!

Bit of OT, can anyone let me know how to dodge the custom duty? A friend of mine told me that we should request the shipper to send it as a gift and then you dont have to pay shipping. Is that right?

I had to pay custom duty through my nose when i got my stuff last time around.

Re: Ford EcoSport : Official Review

A neighbor suddenly decided today in the morning that he wanted an Ecosport.
Saw a black Titanium(O) standing at his gate tonight!
Disgusted...
Wonder which poor guy got robbed of his promised delivery!
He was not willing to divulge the dealer.

Hi there!
The titanium version comes with fabric seats installed, and IMO your dealer is trying to force you with those seat covers stating that "it's factory fitted" and asking you to shell down 40k, you could as well get stanleys for that cost.

If you really feel that you need leathers go ahead and get something more premium for that cost, what the dealers offer is more "art leather" than genuine ones.

Your SA is definitely trying to rip you off. Go back to your dealership and give him a piece of your mind. I've never come
across the titanium variants coming out with factory fitted leathers as claimed by your SA. NEVER!

Cheers!

Has anyone installed the rear wing spoiler on their Ecosport. If yes, please post a pic of the same.

Thanks

Hi srinath43,

You can see pictures on page number 10 in my ownership thread.
Taken some pictures in the stock yard, the mars red with and without spoiler.
IMHO spoiler adds to the overall character of the car, makes the rear look sharper too!

Hope it helps

I'd suggest you ask for the VIN number before paying any more, and then head over Wildon's thread ( http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/buying...cture-vin.html ) to get the PDF report for your VIN - that'll tell you whether the leather covers are factory fitted or not.

My EcoSport came with factory fitted covers since its a Titanium (O), and the PDF has this entry in it:
Quote:
Dark Leather/Red II
I'm not aware of any factory variant that comes with the wheel cover, that sounds like your dealer trying to palm off an accessory as a paid fitment - please write back to Ford customer care with a complaint.

Last week I received an Online survey from Ford regarding the buying experience and now got a call from the dealer, saying they want a feedback on the buying experience. They wanted me to ensure that I say "Completely Satisfied" when the Ford guys call me. They also wanted to meet me in person.

1) How can someone be "Completely Satisfied" when he had to wait for 4 months?
2) How can the Sales & Dealership experience be termed as "Completely Satisfied" when there was no communication from them regarding the allocation, increase in prices, deletion of features and to top it off not allowing insurance from the market?

It seriously looks like a game wherein both Ford and the dealers are trying to blame each other for the Ecosport mess-up.

Hello Arun,

How do you get a pdf report for your VIN. I asked Wildon only about the date of manufacture after rpoviding my VIN and I got the date as 12-Jul-2013.

Appreciate your reply

Re: Ford EcoSport : Official Review

Hi !

Finally I have been told that I can expect delivery of my Ecosport TDCI Titanium (O) soon.

Can anyone please help me with the PDI Checklist for Ecosport as well as the letter from FORD stating we can get our own Insurance.

The dealer is insisting on Finance as well as Insurance from them.

I am waiting to get the Delivery Order before I create a storm and say nothing doing.

An urgent reply with relevant links will be most appreciated

Re: Ford EcoSport : Official Review

Finally!!!!! Taking delivery of my white Ecosport 1.5 AT next week. Payment/ document formalities completed yesterday.

Had also visited the dealer stockyard for inspection few days back and found everything alright. The odo has 20 Km on it. They even permitted a short drive inside the yard. A few pictures taken there.

Insurance taken from HDFC Ergo for 15.8 k. Did not opt for zero dep as I have not made a single claim on both my existing vehicles for over 5 years. This one is company registered so could not get the NCB transferred.

Dealer had quoted 33k for the insurance. There was only a meek protest about outside insurance. They took a letter from me addressed to the dealer that since the quotation was much lower outside, I was taking my own insurance, which I happily gave. End of matter.

Booking Date: 20 Jun 13
Waiting: almost 4.5 months (better late than never)

Alls well that ends well.http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/images/icons/icon7.gif Thanks to fellow bhpians for keeping this thread alive with the wealth of information/ reviews/ details posted here which has been of great help. And ofcourse, I hope to contribute to this thread with my experiences with the vehicle.
