Don't sell it off yet.
Hi Blacksport. What makes me feel sad is that driving is my passion and I wanted a super experience as far as driving is concerned. When the car gives me a heavy feeling :
1. First thing I feel that somehow my passion of driving has been betrayed with.
2. Secondly, this random but persistent problem may lead way to a big problem, after the warranty is over.

Absolutely wrong. No connection to the issues your facing.

Can you check if the brakes are binding some wheel causing it not rotate freely. Put the car on lift and rotate each wheel and check for freeness in rotation.

Option 1 is of no use as the email would be directed to Fod, India and the nearest ASC of your house so same people, same replies.

Option 3, needs to wait to see if Option 2 has any positive effect or no. If no positive response from Ford then go for Option 3. No point jumping to conclusion so fast.

+1.

Anurag.
Hi Anurag, Well the sound can be heard when the car is stationary and during the push and again during taking off my foot from the clutch pedal. The sound is only audible in lower gears. Once car cruises beyond gear 3, the sound vanishes.
I have experienced this sound when the car was new, six months back. I have even read about this "humm" sound experienced by all ES owners during the initial drive of about 2500kms.

I wanted advise of the fellow members regarding the ecosport. I booked my TDCI TITANIUM when I entered med school on 22nd July 2013 at Riddhi ford, mathura road, delhi and am still yet to get the car. I was very sure about the car but the wait has made me skeptical about the reliability and ease of use of the car considering the bad experience my dad had with the ford escort. I currently use a wagon R so can wait till early next year if something exciting is on the cards. I turned 18 this year and the car would be used with 1 on board or overloaded (college outings). I do not want a swift as its too common. I don't like the Honda city because of the head room for my 6'2" 90kg frame. I think my options are limited to upcoming S Cross, Honda Jazz and Ecosport. Duster is too crude and a bit expensive for my liking. Would love suggestions from the members. Thank you in advance

Got the 10k km service done on Saturday at Harpreet Ford, Gurgaon. The SA was was very cooperative but a big noob (didn't know what a k&n filter was when I asked him if I can install that). Here are the details:

1. Total bill: Rs. 1548 /-

2. KM done: 9210 km (I'll have to put off the service reminder alarm when my car touches 10k km as directed by Naveen Raju)

3. Engine oil filled: 4.2 L, 100 ml more than whats instructed in the booklet. When I told them the same the reply was "Sar, itna hi dalta hai"

4. Got the irritating noise corrected which used to come while braking. It was the rear left drum brake which was opened and cleaned.

5. 3M paint protection recheck done with some touch-ups of paint underneath.

6. Asked for the ECU update, no one in the whole service center had a clue and looked at me as if I was talking some alien stuff, except one, who told me that they have not got any ECU update information.

7. Now the teflon part: I don't know what they use, pitures attached. They don't know what Dupont Teflon is.

8. Spotted an Ecosport and a figo with LTD stickers. The ecosport got a re-paint treatment done while the figo had come for a normal service. I didn't spot their BHPian owners in the whole day. I wonder how could they stay away from their ride.

9. Also spotted an Ecosport with TN registration number with the other alloy design which didn't come to India. It was delivered to them at the time of launch, perhaps was one of the display cars during the Urban Discoveries Campaign.

Re: OFFROAD Tyres on Ford EcoSport??

Reposting this query here in the hopes that I could get some guidance from existing Ecosport Owners...

This trim comes with 195/65R15 as stock tyres.

He is looking to upgrade to the 205/70 R15 Yokohama Geolander AT-S:

This would be a 5.2% increase in wheel diameter compared to stock size which sounds a bit too much! However, increase in wheel diameter would only be 2.3% if we compare with the Titanium's 205/60 R16 stock tires.

The sidewall height would increase by 17mm from 126.75mm to 143.75mm, resulting in improved ride quality and increased ground clearance!

On paper, this looks all good:

+ Much better grip on muddy unpaved roads
+ Increased ground clearance from 205 to 220+ mm
+ Improved ride quality due to increased sidewall height
+ Better aesthetics & more SUVish looks

But, has anybody done this before? Is this doable? Any cons?

The increase is a lot, both width and aspect ratio has increased. Typically when you increase width, you decrease aspect ratio to maintain overall size same as original. In your friend's case it is 5.28% increase over stock tyre in variant choosen, and 2.4% increase over Titanium's. That's going to be a huge margin of error in speedometer and total mileage reading. I tend to think it will also affect vehicle dynamics to a certain extent.

On related note I wonder whether manufacturers calibrate speedometer differently for variants shod with different tyre size.

Re: Ford EcoSport : Official Review

Any one with first hand experience with pete's smart wax for the ecosport?
I was quoted @7.5K ( plus one free coat after 3 months) and @10.5 K (plus 4 free coats every 3 months)

Is it worth it?

Many of my friends have experience and it's worth the cash. Also, you can check "tastefully modded cars" thread and most of the KL modded cars are smart waxed. I'm planning to do it in 3-4 months.

I have a small question that's been niggling at my mind for a while. Bit of a silly one possibly - why is it that despite a width of 1765mm, as against 1695 of Honda City, it is difficult to seat more than 2 adults in the rear bench of the Ecosport?

It's to do with how the width varies across the length of the car. The Ecosport doesn't have a bulging belly like a City or Sunny.

I think it also depends on the internal design - in the EcoSport, I feel that there is a lot of space at/around the door (where the armrest is), which means that it is not usable for passenger seating. I've not seen a Honda City to compare them, however.

Hi is there an increase in ex-showroom price of ford ecosport. I had booked ecosport AT in month of April with V-Go ford, faridabad. I had called my sales advisor yesterday to enquire about status of my vehicle. He said that as I told you that AT is always in short supply, I am trying my best but till date no news by when I can provide.

He then offered me ecoboost or 1.5P titanium by June. Now I was tempted, I asked him about trend 1.5P - he said he can try in June. Then in that discussion he mentioned that ex- showroom price has increased by 9000.
I want to know if this is across India or just Haryana effect? I live in delhi but booked with dealer in Haryana as my reason below.
1. Riddhi ford made accessory and insurance compulsory
2. Delhi Ford flatly refused to book petrol version
3. Harpreet Ford too far

V-go is close and promised delivery in3-4 months

Guys, my ecosport is not starting with ABS malfunction error in the display. Road side assistance guys are suggesting to tow the vehicle and take to the nearest workshop. Is that the only option? Anyone else faced this issue?

This makes sense to me. Obviously the door pads etc take up more space in the Ecosport so despite being wider on paper, it doesn't translate into more seat space.

Get a measuring tape and measure the thickness of the door panels. There are several such tricks employed, which are often clubbed under the automotive parlance called 'packaging'. No rocket science here. Japanese are the masters of 'packaging'. Cab forward design, tall boy design, etc.

Ask the service technician to visit your place and check thoroughly before towing your car to ASS.

Visited the service centre and and checked on the version of the software on the ECU.

It is 89.05.
