This is neither un educated nor untried. I have recommended, what I have tried and tested. Lowering pressure by 5 psi is not causing blow out.

Cheers & Safe Driving
Actually eko's suggesting is right. Many cars have different pressure for front and rear. They need not be same and you need to experiment.

Also 25psi is not really that low. It's on a the lower side to lose mileage but will result in softer side. But 25 really bogs the ecosport down.

Tried lowering tyre pressure. Tried different pressures. Nothing helped. Looks like taking to the useless ASS.

Re: Ford EcoSport : Official Review

Hi

Of lately, I am getting a warning message after cold start (overnight) on the display "Brake malfunction, Stop safely" with the beep for couple of seconds after i start the car. It goes off after couple of seconds and everything is normal. I have Ecosport AT which has completed 3 years and 9 months with 18K on Odo. Is this time to say goodbye to the stock battery or will there be any other serious issue? Also, any recommendations for replacing the stock battery-Make/Specifications?

Also, ever since 3rd year service, the warm up time for the engine has almost doubled. It used to take less than a minute earlier after a cold start (rpm needle coming back to 800 types after initial start of over 1.2k rpms). I suspect Ford ASS did not stick to recommended engine oil for 1.5L Petrol and used a different one (maybe used for Diesel engine) during the last service. Could that be the case and if so, how do i check oil specifications?

Thanks.

Re: Ford EcoSport : Official Review

Hi Guys,

My friend is contemplating to buy Ford Ecosport. But as we heard news about updated model. He is little bit confused.
Do anyone has detail about the launch date?
If it will be launched by Oct or Nov 2017, He will be ready to wait for the updated version.

There's discussion on the facelift going on here:

I feel, if they launch it in Oct/Nov; most realistically, deliveries will happen towards Nov-end or Dec. Might be worth the while waiting till 2018 then.

My friend confirmed that it will be in November this year. The source is too close to the ground level to be wrong

Re: Ford EcoSport : Official Review

Happy to announce that I've picked up a used Ecosport yesterday.

The vehicle has done 16368 kms at the time of pick up. I had picked up the car from a used car dealer - Family cars, who deals mostly with Ford vehicles. The dealer picks up Ford cars used by employees which are auctioned by Ford Motors. This is a company maintained car used by an employee.

I had checked the car with a trusted mechanic and the car also was certified by a BHPian working for Ford. Have driven about 40 KMs thus far so cannot really comment on the vehicle but I'm satisfied with the purchase.

Total cost was 836154

Price: 810000/- (Quoted 8.3 lacs, brought it down to 8.1)
Insurance: 24654
Registration: 1500

Variant: Titanium Option (Diesel)
Color: Kinetic Blue
Manufactured: 21st Aug 2015

The dealer are a few more Ecosport, Fiesta and Figo in stock. All are in good condition. They have picked up 5 endeavours too, one of which is parked here - a trend 2.2 MT

My Ecosport's company warranty is still intact. I had inquired about extended warranty in Ford website and have got the following quotes.

3rd Year - 13700/-
4th Year - 22000/-
5th Year - 38300/-

Need suggestions from owners on the extended warranty

Congratulations on the EcoSport!

The relatively low odo reading on a two year old car is a good pick!

Regarding extended warranty, always a good practice to have the vehicle covered as much, and as long as possible.

Quoting from the Nexon thread...

Any reports of failures so far?

Re: Ford EcoSport : Official Review

I had seen that thread from Peejay some time ago, but there never was a conclusion. Peejay stopped replying after a couple of posts, and everything else in the thread is just speculation. Then there are the cases of TCM replacement and clutch wear.

Well, I don't see any more instances that what usually gets reported routinely for any car. There are not enough instances to establish a pattern of failures.

Re: Ford EcoSport : Official Review

Is there any harmful effects of weather specially sunlight on the spare tyre in the event that one does not opt for the stepney cover?
