Re: Ford EcoSport : Official Review

I am just amazed about the incompetence of the ford dealer, just got a mail from them saying I have been allotted a chill metallic vehicle whilst I have booked Sea Grey color and
I met them before my travel back to US about getting a visibility into the possible allotment dates and they were totally clueless then.

Wonder if Ford has a SIOP ( Sales,Inventory, Operations and Planning) process.

Ha ha ha..
We all are wondering the same and some more.
First you wait for a year plus, the even after pre-booking it is going to be 3 months and still no news of anything.
Just had a word with my dealer today, says I am no1 in Ecoboost list (less red n blue color) and in complete month he has not got a single Ecoboost,
I really don't know the guy is telling the truth or not. It's really been frustrating dealing with the dealer now.

There are no Cancellation charges levied by Ford. It's all Dealers. Please have a look at the below Chat which I had with Ford India.

Thats strange, because all dealers across India charge the same
Guess now you dont have a choice but to work it out with the dealer.

In Chennai cancellation charges levied by the Dealer is 5K. And it is clearly mentioned in the "Terms & Conditions" of Quote which is been provided by the dealer initially.

The cancellation amount varies from dealer to dealer. In Mumbai, one dealer is charging 1% of the ex-showroom value as cancellation charges, another is charging 3000 and another one (who is swamped with bookings) is not charging any cancellation charges on petrol variants.

Re: Ford EcoSport : Official Review

What is the state of waiting period for EcoSport in Delhi NCR?

A relative wants to book base diesel variant on first Navratri and get delivery before Diwali? Payment will be cash.

Possible?

EDIT : Which Dealer should be preferred? Also any festival offers?

Nopes, unless he agrees to pay premium or he has some dealer friend. Not possible. Last I checked for base diesel, it was 26 weeks waiting here. For top end it was 32 weeks.

Re: Ford EcoSport : Official Review

I am interested in knowing if there is a child lock feature in ecosport. I am getting my tit(o) next week and with my enthusiastic 2 yr old, i want to be sure of child safety mechanism. Also, did anybody fit a child seat using the ISOFIX?
Thanks in advance

Child lock mechanism is present in all cars! But I doubt that ford ecosport is having isofix attachments! And top tether attachment!!Owners please confirm. My cruze has top tether attachment but doesn't have isofix. Together with belts+top tether I have secured the child seat very firmly.there is absolutely no play.

A request to all.
Please update the waiting period of diesel and petrol ecosport in the respective cities we live?
Due to the wild waiting periods I feel the dealers are taking us for a ride. As have come across instances when people have got delivery within a week too.
This may help us dealing with dealers in some way.

My dealer In Guwahati is telling me he has not got any Petrol ecosport(ECOBOOST) in last one month, can it be true?
It is almost 3 months since I booked, now I stand at no. 1 in list as per my SA.

Re: Ford EcoSport : Official Review

ISOFIX is available in tit and tit(o) variants as per the brochure. In one of the ownership thread, i saw a post wherein the doors did not have a insitu locking mechanism..

Option 1. Yes, they have indeed, except that they are four separate deptts with separate bosses who don't see eye to eye ?

Option 2. The first is headed by the most paid guys, the rest is routine stuff, so why bother in investing there ? The booking amount is enough to pay their salaries, so this is what you get.

I had initially booked a Petrol AT on day 2 of launch but changed it within a week to (o) diesel once dealer informed me that I would have to wait till November at the earliest and most likely 2014 for an AT.
