Actually to me it kind of looks like the most practical option.

i10 AT - Has poor FE and is now a little long in the tooth. Is a half segment lower IMO.

Ritz AT - Just feels so out dated now. Plus the AT is only in the VXi trim so you don't get alloys, airbags and even an audio system. Just basic features. Also remember Maruti is charging 1.4 lakhs for the AT variant vs the MT Ritz.

Brio AT - Very good option but limited boot space and compact dimensions means it can only function as the second or 3rd car in the house. Moreover the 5 speed AT is not the smoothest in traffic.

A-Star - Cheapest Auto out there so very good VFM but non existent rear seat space and boot. Just doesn't feel like a 5.5L hatch back.

The Micra has no major negative. Yes you will get the rubber band effect and performance is mediocre but none of the AT hatches above have blistering performance or great FE. Most of them have 4 speed AT boxes which are not even efficient.

If you look closer, the 20K over the Brio and Ritz is not a bad option for a practical city hatch. You don't have the huge FE drop compared to the MT also. The CVT is pretty much loaded

If Honda had got the Brio with the CVT like Thailand and FE was more than the MT, that would have been a perfect option.

Re: Nissan Micra Facelift / Xtronic CVT : Official Review

Does it have any other features over the Brio that justify the 25K ?

I know it has the bluetooth key and push start..what else?

3 cylinder IMO is a negative in this price range. I have nothing against it but I expect A-star levels of pricing

Food for thought ehhh

How come such a difference on the K10 price between Kerala and bangalore.
TVM Alto K10 vxi price is 3.93L.. (take out the 30 consumer discount+ 15 xchange) --+ it comes to 3.5L..

I understand the tax is on the higher side in Bangalore.. but still a difference of 55K???

Size and bigger/usable boot?
Brio definitely looks tiny and now difficult to differentiate from Amaze. It will be interesting to see Brio-D though.

I guess you have got the LXi Prices. If not then even i am amused.
The on road price here is 4.3 lakhs-- we are getting a 25k discount + corporate discount(which they will tell when you book the car)
So, Total Price on road comes to ~ 4.05 lakhs

All I can think about are : cabin and boot space, hatch window not behind your ears, keyless start/stop, auto folding mirrors, handsfree bluetooth, adjustable head rests, rear wipers, auto A/C, slightly better FE(?), less costly spares(?), less haughty dealers(?).

Surprisingly, keyless entry (present on the lower XL), rear spoiler and front fog lamps are missing from the CVT model as per Nissan's site. Though, I would request anyone to please cross check the features I've mentioned.

The interior space, quality and convenience is a definitely a class above the A-Star. I have not experienced a Brio much.

Not really, The Micra CVT has the rear spoiler, keyless entry is present in the CVT XV.

My take on Brio vs Micra

Micra:

Better boot space.

More equipment on offer,

More comfort levels,

More premium interiors

A more efficient AT

Better styling.

This is all I can think of now.

Cheers,
Achyuth

Re: Nissan Micra Facelift / Xtronic CVT : Official Review

Surely to me, it worth the money. A top end all inclusive loaded AT variant and that too a CVT. If it can deliver anywhere more that 15 (for an ARAI claim of 19), I would say for a medium to higher levels of city usage its worth it.

Re: Nissan Micra Facelift / Xtronic CVT : Official Review

And to take a stock of what all I missed, buying the outgoing model of the XV Premium diesel, just 4 months back.
  • Looks. I don't mind much, but the corporate grille and Rear LED lamps are missed.
  • Driver Seat Height Adjust.
  • Upper Glove Box.
  • Two DIN Audio w/ USB.
  • Hands Free Bluetooth and Handsfree Control.
  • Driver Seat Belt Warning Indicator.
  • Rear View Camera.
  • Passenger and Side Airbags.
  • Alarm for Immobilizer.

And the most important one for me.
  • ABS + EBD + BA

What are these?
  • Door sash tape.
  • Assist Grip.
  • NVH Package.

What was the last selling price for the outgoing XV Premium diesel?

Re: Nissan Micra Facelift / Xtronic CVT : Official Review

So the AT is only on the fully loaded model. Not every body needs that esp if its a car#2 of the household.

Hope sense will prevail and the AT will be offered on the mid versions

2. fog lamps
3. Reversing camera
4. Auto dimming IRVM
5. rear spoiler
