Did you get it from the Skoda company or extended warranty is from the insurance company. (Is it Skoda insurance or any other agent?)

This is from the insurance company. It is some outside agent who is attached to the Skoda dealer.

Why go through the pain of electrical additions/alterations? I am pretty sure Vagtune will soon have the answer. It will involve changing the whole head light units, ballasts, wiring, sensors for cornering lights and AFS. Surely will cost a bomb too. Better to just have an inbuilt projector kit installed with Hella projectors, d1s bulbs and ballasts. Some dealers offer the after market kit but its too cheap looking.

In Bangalore there is a wait period of 6 months for all models. Is it the same in all other cities?

It is the same in Hyderabad. I booked mine in March when the waiting period was 4 months but now I am hearing it might be 6 months for me too :(.

re: Review: Skoda Octavia (3rd-gen)

Last weekend drove an Octavia Diesel DSG (Laura in India) on Irish roads for over 500KM and was very much impressed. Ride quality/ handling is fantastic.

Car had done over 1.3 lac KM and it was mated to a 7 speed DSG (I guess DQ200).

Gear shifts were smooth and quick. Car was in good condition and there were no rattles even after 1.3L KM of usage as build quality is good.

Also fuel efficiency was amazing. After driving for over 300KM, DTE was showing 1200KM
I got over 20KMPL.

Previous weekend drove an Audi A4 TDI Manual and got an average mileage of 15KMPL. I enjoyed driving Skoda more than Audi because of amazing DSG transmission.

I wish Skoda had good customer service in India and i would have definitely bought one.

This is incorrect information. Some colours models have 12 weeks waiting, other 20 weeks. Some cars (no choice on colours) are available for immediate delivery upon cancellation and at an average its taking 2-3 months. For that matter even Vento TSI is available in 1-2 weeks. Some of my colleagues have taken delivery within 2 weeks of booking. This is first hand information.
