Duster 4WD version comes in for the 85bhp version as well.

What's the reason for the absence of all wheel drive in the Duster (Terrano - mechanically identical) for the Indian market? Is it that it would be too expensive to sell, or are there only few takers? Or are they just cutting corners
It's just cost, that's all. There's no other reason. The volumes don't justify the need for an AWD.

The Fortuner is a prime example. Ever since the 2WD and 2WD AT were launched the 4WD drive sales plummeted.

The % of people wanting AWD and the % thinking they need 4WD is too small to make one. Higher cost and unnecessary complexity add to the aversion.

Price ex-showroom Hyd.

Difference is mainly for the alloys.

But the price for the alloys when you buy as accessory is 50k.
I finally opted for the XLD Plus (85PS). Rs.13,37,447 (with tax, excluding insurance) - Bangalore

Did not go for the showroom insurance as it was way too pricy. Bumper2Bumper was quoted at 48k! I got the same features outside for 32k outside. Planning on adding some accessories to the invoice with the money saved

I guess this is new to you IMO I find them much better than Duster's. Maybe its more so because I can relate it to the bigger, more famous SUVs

The front and the 5 petal alloys are reminiscant of the renowned SUV- Nissan Pathfinder

The Front is also seen on the monstous Nissan Patrol

No offense to Duster owners and fans alike, but IMO the car always looked like the Peugeot 309 on steroids flaunting a chrome grill. On a serious note, I feel the looks of this vehicle will appear dated in a very short time. And that is the only reason i opted out of it. Otherwise it is a great car to both drive and own.

Congrats to you too!
They had given me a Pre-Diwali promise, but by the looks of it most probably would turn out to be Post-Diwali delivery. Keep us all updated on the sales experience.

Re: Nissan Terrano : Official Review

Has anyone here from Bangalore taken delivery of the vehicle? The Shahwar sales guys mentioned there were around 10 vehicles delivered last week.

I have already seen a couple of them on the roads. So surely deliveries have started. They look very good too.

Re: Nissan Terrano : Official Review

The bronze-grey color of the Terrano has that brown tinge at the showrooms and I also see that brown tinge on the pics of this review, but lot of other photos on the internet make it look plain grey. Weird.

Re: Nissan Terrano : Official Review

Took delivery of the Nissan Terrano XL petrol. But the alloys(of the top end) that I paid for have not yet been fit. Will take a week for it to arrive I am told. Will post pics once that happens

This might interest the petrol heads. Might be worth a wait.

Renault is launching a new engine for Duster. I'm sure it will be available for Terrano as well.

The following website carries all news about the Duster - http://www.daciaduster.org/

Renault & Nissan could introduce this 1.2 Turbo Engine, and capitalize on this launch to give more thrust in sales. Hope they do not jack up the price further !!

It will only push the cost of the petrol turbo charged variant upwards, like the EcoSport Ecoboost variant (s). But, nonetheless it will attract few buyers who do not mind paying for advanced tech.
