"Outside Temperature" display stuck at 20 degrees

After a wash at a car wash service, where they had to clean the engine bay because rats had caused a stink there, the outside temperature display seems to be stuck at 20 degrees now.
I have tried spraying WD40 over electrical components in the bay to remove moisture, however I am not able to locate the sensor. Any ideas where the sensor is located, please?

If anyone else has faced this issue, would this temperature sensor need replacement now? or should I just wait it out and hope for it to resolve itself?

ORVMs in my Honda City (2017) are opening closing randomly when the switch is ON (they are closed when the switch is OFF). I think the switch is defective.

Anybody else faced this problem?

Anybody knows the part number of this switch? Boodmo is not showing part name and does not have it in stock.

Hi everyone,
I was wondering if it's possible to update the car software for the Honda City iDtec 2015? If anyone has done this, did it help in any way?
Thanks!

Dear BHPians,
Just got my 2019 honda city's rear windshield broken when parked in front of my home. Wanted to know how much it would cost for a new windshield with defogger and will this be covered in a b2b comprehensive insurance?. If it's covered, should I go with the insurance claim?. Kindly advice.

Hello - Today I sent my 2015 Honda city for service. I have been getting periodic service from local garrage for last 4 years so thought this time to send to Honda service for full check up (Dakshin Homda in Bangalore). It was making some noise from co-passenger seatbelt side so I was expecting some repair there.

Supervisor called back that there are multiple part changes required - seat belt and seat frame (which are worn out and need change for stopping the noise) - Rs 6k+16k, front suspension change - Rs 25k, Cowl top - Rs 2.8K, Brake pads and disc - Rs 11k, paid service for 12k (incl all oil changes). In all he quoted me Rs 85k. Which I found high and dont want to spend that much 10 year old vehicle (thinking to sell off this in next 2 years).

I am willing to repair, are there workshops outside which can fit Honda genuine parts? I am sure Honda service is charging me much higher than other service vendors. Any recommendations how to manage this?

Its a no brainer that most ASCs over inflate the bill, but the vehicle condition remains top notch only via the ASC route.

- There is no point of 6k+16k job.
- Suspension change is needed only if you're experiencing a rattling sound from the struts.
- Cowl top replacement is only for aesthetics and not needed.
- Brake discs typically should last 60K kms and brake pads about 30K. Check the usage and whether there is wheels trembling during braking at speeds.
- Paid service is the necessary job.

Thank you. Are Honda genuine parts available outside of ASCs? How can I get them? Some parts need change and I am willing to spend.

Unfortunately, Honda genuine parts are not available outside of ASCs.

A few years back, one of the headlight bulb fused and I opened the back cover and replaced the same with the spare bulb that is part of the car kit.
Then I went to the ASC (Dakshin) to purchase the bulb and keep it as the spare that I had used.

The ASC mentioned, we can give the spare bulb, but we have to bill the fitting (labour) charge as well. I found this ridiculous as I had already fitted it myself with the spare available and the labour charge is fictitious/unjustified.

Ultimately, I purchased the spare OEM spec bulb from outside at about 300+ (Philips made in China) while the original one was 1200+ ( Osram made in Germany).
So I believe Honda does use high quality parts for sure although the cost is justifiably higher, which is fine.

If a customer has had to replace the bulb with a spare during the middle of a drive and comes to the ASC to buy and replenish the spare, the ASC has to sell the spare bulb without adding labour charge in the bill. They cannot charge labour when they have not replaced the bulb themselves. This is common sense, but they didn't agree to not include the labour charge.

I have experienced the same during my ownership of Civic when I needed to buy a Honda monogram to replace the logo on the boot. . However, once I got extra oil filter during one of the regular paid services and they added only the cost of spare.

They would also need a relevant Honda Car VIN for selling any spares as OTC (such as a Civic VIN for any part related to Civic- even the variant should be relevant to the spare part being bought), as OEM part sale is probably not allowed by Honda. This is why they add labour charges as they need to show that they have fitted the same on the car and not something that they have sold as 'loose' item.
