Thanks GTO, for the extremely detailed review. I have been contemplating about buying the 2014 Honda City.

Sorry guys.

Looks like there was a goof-up in the print of the official Honda invitation sent to the Motoroids people, and upon my subsequent enquiry with them, they accepted the error.

Mods, kindly delete my earlier post (quoted above). Thanks in advance!

You could use this neat tyre size comparison caluclator
http://www.1010tires.com/Tools/Tire-Size-Calculator and figure out the best upsize.

I have done a comparison between 175-65R15 with 195-60R15 below.

Hope, this helps.

re: 4th-gen Honda City : Official Review

Today I was going through the accessories on sale for the City. I came across the twin chrome bar grille with a little kink on both sides. Looked way way better than the stock grille on the car. I enquired about the price and the SP told its available for a cool INR 14000. Didn't bother to ask the prices for the alloy wheels and seat covers.

Even though the grille is a tad overpriced, I feel it will enhance the looks of the City to a great extent.

Thanks Rakesh Verma. This would mean VX D at about 14L OTR BLR and V SD at about 12.5 or 13L. Not bad!

Sorry not meaning any offense to you, how would that be even possible? Don't people have to pay the remaining amount, PDI, Insurance, Registration, Paper work etc!? Forget about people going for loans then. If the dealer is able to deliver tomorrow, that could only mean people with big fat cheque books could simply jump the queue and get their machines. What's the meaning of paying the same booking amount as everyone else, I don't get it. Anyway I am not in the queue.

I guess there are a bunch of people who do buy their cars cash down. I know of many who believe in that formula. You are right about people waiting for loans and that cannot be sanctioned in a matter of hours. Registration is very quick these days and a temporary number is issued according to serial number at the dealership itself. The insurance too is super quick. Paper work takes maximum 1 hour. So it is realistic to expect a delivery tomorrow itself. In all honesty for many people a PDI is to look at the bodywork and check for scratches and just simply take delivery of the car with the right docs.

Cash down, hmm even these days people could have million plus rupees in hard cash I guess. Otherwise, even with the latest cheque standards and bank NEFT or RTGS it might take a few hours for the dealer to realize the full payment.
Just not in this league to understand how it all works.

Anyhow its good for people to have that feeling of getting home with their dream car on the day of the launch itself.

Personally though I would wait for the euphoria to settle down. I am eagerly waiting for the price announcement as I am in the market for a Diesel sedan.

Now awaiting the first ownership thread on the forum. Let me be the first one to congratulate the first owner. Hearty congratulations to ---------.

PS: Would fill up the blank when we have the first owner on the forum
