I was told no variant will come with six airbags. Two is the max in the top variants. I agree that SV seems to be the most value for money variant.

No he didn't give any indication of the pricing. He was updated about the features because he had recently undergone training.

One thing I forgot to mention. I was told that the SV will come with four speakers and the VX with eight.

re: 4th-gen Honda City : Official Review

Excellent review GTO.

I really felt that the 4th gen City is just not up to the mark from reading this review. I was expecting a lot more from Honda on the City diesel, especially given the specifications of the Amaze. They disappointed on that front, as well as on various other areas, where cost-cutting appears to have been managed very unwisely.

The biggest plus with the diesel is of course its mileage, and I expect a huge uptake purely because of that.

That said, IMHO, having driven the old Swift VDi for 90K km, and having driven every version of the Hyundai Verna diesel, no other vehicle even comes close to these where the fun-to-drive aspect on highways is concerned. I was hoping to add the City diesel to that list, but sadly, it appears to fail to make the cut.

Saw Honda advts all over today. The CVT is back with the 5-speed as an option in the Automatics. Claim superb consumption figures of 18kpl for the CVT. CVT does make sense - lighter, and more efficient. I hope the rubber-banding is taken care of.

Looks like a step down in safety. Only driver side air bag in E and S variants. A big thumbs down.

Think they want to project SV as the most VFM variant, and my guess is, that's what people will be flocking for.

It is in fact a smart business move. It would help them have a lower starting price, which has become so important nowadays. They are still better than some competitors who does not give even ABS in the base variants. But since they had set the standard in the segment with the third gen City, this move is retrograde.

In 2009, when I was looking at buying a City, I never looked beyond the E variant, and later the cheaper corp edition. At least the few among us who value safety than creature comforts are going to be disappointed.

But am sure Honda has done its homework.

My only grouse with SV variant is that it is missing the audio system and touch screen display. Other than this, it is spot-on. I hope Honda prices it decently.

I guess it has the audio system. What I made from the spec document is that the SV audio system does not have touch screen.

The E variant has no audio system?
That's a bummer.
SV looks loaded but still misses turn indicators and fog lights.
Nice to see pinch guard.

Thanks for the correction.

Is it confirmed that the CVT is only on SV and VX variants?
