Re: Audi A3 : Official Review

Were you able to do something about this issue? Looking forward to hear if you found the solution.

I have the facelift A3 2017-2019 version. It really bothers me that I cannot see google map on the MMI screen. Even sub-10 lakh cars come with Carplay and Android Auto.

Keen to know if someone has been able to upgrade their MMI to be able to use carplay/android auto.

I read this link where fellow bhpian has added apple carplay through a hardware installation.

Hi, my car is still in warranty so haven't yet got it changed. But come next June, I will change the stupid MMI. It is a disgrace. The following one is what I am planning to buy:

PS: I used to be a strategy consultant like you but have not left that life behind. Cheers

Re: Audi A3 : Official Review

Hi,

I have Audi A3 2017-19 facelift version. Recently noticed there was no seat belt warning sign on passenger side front seat. I asked this from Audi dealer, they said send the car.

Now after 2 days of diagnostic, they are saying this feature was never there in the first place.

But this is such a basic safety feature. Can anyone on this thread confirm that it indeed is not present in Audi A3 cars specially 2017-19 version?

I find that difficult to believe, my Q3 has it.

@cka, @IanNazareth: You have the same model as me. Can you confirm if your car also does not have front passenger seat belt alert?

Re: Audi A3 : Official Review

Hey guys, was looking to change my car and found a nice A3 TFSI 2017. It does have 58,000 kms on the clock and Audi are giving one year of warranty on it. They will be doing a full inside and outside detailing and a full checkup.

I have taken a test drive and the car does feel a bit more stiff than my Jetta in terms of suspension, but other than that, it seems to work well.

Does this car also have the dreaded DQ200 and are the any other issues I should be aware of?

Thanks

Yup, the 1.8 TSI motor was only came mated to the DQ200! Please ensure the one year warranty would include the gearbox if you are surely going to go ahead with the purchase.

If it's a DQ200, one year may not be enough.

Hi Dracoon, Mine does not as well, just the driver side. I have a CBU, maybe the CKD's had it.

That is a rare gem you have found. What's the colour and variant? We came close to buying one way back in 2016, but opted for that giant-killer Octavia 1.8TSI purely for space considerations.

This is from Audi Preapproved? They are very reliable as far as I know.

Agree. it will fail at some point in time so do budget some moolah for it.

Nice!

Variant? I cannot recollect what the variant names were then.

Full Audi service history? Apart from the DSG S-Tronic itself, the A3 was pretty reliable unlike the Octavia's mixed record with failures of the DRLs, AC compressor, thermostat, AC vent sliders, sunroof creaks etc. etc.

It's the premium plus variant.

Re: Audi A3 : Official Review

A couple of additional questions guys:

1. Is the 1.8TSi engine in the 2017 version E12-E20 compliant? I don't want to end up with a car I cant drive in the next 2-3 years.

2. What's the city mileage I can expect? It seems to have a higher rating than my 1.4 TSi Jetta, which is a manual.

3. Is the suspension a lot stiffer than the Jetta? The test drive seemed to be a lot more stiff then a similar drive in the Jetta.

4. Finally, is there anyway to check the condition of the DSG? Anything to look out for?
