But all in vain,if any one else had faced the same issue or had done something about it. Suggestions are welcome.
I had the exact problem. Over a period of time the clutch too was turning hard, which didn't help things(~60K km on the odo). I tried raising the seat to the max height, change the recline, adding a cushion, lumbar support, etc etc. None worked.

Finally sold the car and then moved to an XUV for the long drives + an automatic for the city drives. The pain is gone. I figured, its the combination of clutch & the seat which caused the pain.

The lumbar support on the 1st gen Elite i20 is practically zero. period! The soft cushion doesn't help either. the new iterations also seem to have the same seat design. Else the car is definitely well packaged.

Re: Hyundai Elite i20 : Official Review

Guys need some help. I have a 2 year old elite i20 crdi done around 32000 kms. From day 1 have felt that the brakes are too soft and lack the bite. Got it checked at the ASC also and they said that everything seems to be ok. At the same time my friends Xcent Petrol has extremely good brakes which made me wonder in the first place if something is wrong with my car.

I am planning to change all 4 tyres very soon and would like to know whether i should go for OEM brake pads or are there any other brands i should look for that will improve the braking.

The brakes of my brand new Elite i20 Magna CVT are also very poor. There's absolutely no confidence while braking. I think it's just the way the brakes of this car are. Changing the tyres won't make a difference.

You may try brembo brakes ( pads, rotors and callipers) for your i20.

Poorly fit seat covers can mess up OEM seat comfort. Use the car without seat covers for a few thousand kms and see how it goes.
Thanks a lot for the suggestions. I was awaiting for a longer drive before I put anything on the forum. I am using a cushion for lumbar support. It has helped a bit but still it is uncomfortable. I think I have messed up my back because of extensive travelling due to official work.

Re: Hyundai Elite i20 : Official Review

Guys,

I need your expert advice with regards to the denting/painting work for my i20.

The car was parked overnight in society's narrow passage with barely some space left for another car to pass. The next morning, I noticed that the left side of my car has a very big line running throughout. I believe, someone would have scraped his/her car while passing through that passage

Please see the pictures below. The scratch is not very deep but there are some places where the paint has started to come off.

What options do I have? I don't want to go for the full panel/door repaint as it will be very costly and I am not sure about the color matching.

Check at service station if they can do half door painting. I had done this for my Ertiga where it was scratched on front left door on lower side, similar to yours. It was bit deep. The service person initially said it will be something like 8K for full door painting. I refused and then he only said they could do lower half door painting at around 3K. It worked very well for me. And yes they painted with a slightly different shade as expected . But fortunately they realized that even before delivering the car to me and got it corrected with correct paint.
You can try this out in case they give you big quotation of full door painting.

PS: Maruti painting Vs. Hyundai painting, should we expect a big price difference?

On-road price for I20 Asta came about 7.9L, which is a great deal I believe. There were no discounts on Baleno and new Swift and ran into 9L on-road prices for top end variants. However, Ignis had a few discounts going, but the interior and build quality was no match to the I20. All Suzuki cars (Swift, Dzire, Ignis, Baleno) felt really cheap with plastiky low quality interiors.

My Family has 4 Suzuki cars and this is the first Hyundai. Was pleasantly surprised to see the nice quality plastics and level of quality Hyundai maintains in its cars. Drove about 100KMS for 3 days and I20 showed no signs of a rattle, Whereas my swift (bought in 2017) rattlled from day-1

Congratulations on your new buy !!

I own a i20 Asta Crdi (o) which is now almost 22 months old and has clocked 20k kms. The car still feels like new and absolutely zero rattles. I too migrated to Hyundai after 20 years of driving Maruthi cars.

I did check with the FNG, they said that the half door painting will not gel with the rest of the paint, had it been on the lower side, it wouldn't have been a problem.

A.S.S would be an expensive affair as both the doors along with the front fender are affected.

Will check with the local denting/painting specialists and see if anyone has a solution

I totally agree, I got my Asta crdi in September'14 and there have been absolutely no rattles thus far.

Check with insurance. If the quote is high and insurance covering most of it, this would be a great time to have full doors/fender restored by genuine source.

If you are ok, you may try using some stickers/body decals around the affected area. it will not only hide the scratch but also enhance the look of your car.

Re: Hyundai Elite i20 : Official Review

Folks in Bangalore,

Does the first paid service of the Elite i20 CRDI car really cost close to 10k? They're quoting 4100 + tax for the labour itself. Bit much for an oil change, air filter and oil filter change. Besides 420+ for consumables.

For the first time, they're pushing synthetic oil, listing all the advantages!

Any recommendations for a good FNG near HSR, Koramangala?

Thanks!

My first service came upto 6500/- . 10k seems to be a little higher but labour rates are different for different cities.

Is your car out of warranty?

Attaching a screenshot. My first service was not 10k but I didn’t go for synthetic. Also this is in Chennai.

Hello,

Yes, that is correct. I got my 30k service done yesterday from HASS. I asked them for synthetic oil and the bill came to ₹12.8k. The ₹4100 they quote includes periodic maintenance service (₹2210 for BLR), labour charges for wheel balancing and alignment (₹680 & ₹715 respectively), front brake pad cleaning (₹470), rear brake assembly both side (₹726). The taxes on this was ₹864. The SA showed these individual charges to me from their sheet when he was explaining the cost breakup. Then came the part charges for oil (₹4200 approx), consumables was ₹420 as you said. Air filter, oil filter, brake fluid top-up, coolant top-up, etc. The taxes on the part value was about ₹1090.

I asked them what options we have for oil and they did inform me about both conventional and synthetic oil. I had shifted from conventional to synthetic during my 20k service and was anyway going to continue with it.

Sorry, I have the bill in the car dash so unable to post the pic right away.

Regards,
Dhananjay
