I have a 6 and a half year old Ciaz Alpha Automatic model which has run close to 60k KMs. Few months back I started noticing an issue with the auto dimming IRVM. It began malfunctioning and the dimming feature stopped working intermittently. Sometimes I had to give it a few hard taps to make it work again. Now the dimming feature has stopped working completely and I took the car to the authorized service center. The service advisor has suggested to replace the IRVM but he said there are 2 types available based on price. One costs ~4k and the other ~20k. He wasn’t able to satisfactorily say what the exact difference is between the two types.

I have looked up the part on boodmo and found one model for 4k only.

Can I go ahead and get this?

Yeah, this looks just like the one currently in the car, you can definitely go ahead with this one.

Hi all, planning on upgrading my ciaz's stereo from analog to touchscreen for convenience of Google maps, Android auto etc.

We still have the stock analog stereo and have been using only Bluetooth for songs, maps, calls etc.

Can anyone suggest a good touchscreen infotainment with wifi built in.

Budget:-15k to 25k stretchable to ~30k

Car model:-Ciaz (ZXI) 2014

I would suggest you go for a mid range touch panel. I got installed a megasonic IPS display 9 inch system with wired iOS and wireless/wireless Android Auto/Carplay.

Wireless Android Auto works perfectly . While Apple needs to have original wire to connect and then the Apple Carplay will work.
I feel Apple Carplay works better and it is faster.

I got this unit installed in Karol Bagh delhi for about Rs. 9200
it is a 2+32 GB variant. It does not hang or freeze.
I only use - Radio, Carplay/Android Auto, bluetooth calls.

I somehow feel that the audio quality is improved after replacing the stock entertainment unit with this one.

The biggest drawback is - the steering buttons sometimes needs to remapped to their usage - for example. the volume down button will be mapped to volume up or mute automatically.
I rarely use these buttons as I feel they are too small for usage.

I will say you can get a decent touch panel worth Rs.10k with wireless android/apple and rest of the funds can be used to upgrading the speakers for better music experience.

My 2019 Ciaz Alpha petrol has run 52000Km. The stock tires have few thousand Km left. I am thinking of replacing the tires with Continental UC6. Keeping the same size 195/55 R16. Anybody running these tires on Ciaz. Appreciate any feedback?
I am being quoted @ Rs 8300 per tyre. These are slightly cheaper at Tyremarket.com but will go with Madhus.

I have purchased a pre-loved 2017 Ciaz Delta Diesel 1.3 DDiS around 4 months back. The car runs butter smooth without any tantrums and returns brilliant fuel efficiency (18+ in city and 24+ on highways with AC set to 22° C).

Although I have a default habit of cranking atleast 5-6 seconds after turning the ignition on, or not till the fuel pump buzz stops, when starting the first time in the morning, however I couldn't find the glow plug or heater symbol on the dashboard of Ciaz, while it is very much present in other cars with the same 1.3 MJD DDiS engine. Is the symbol omitted in Ciaz SmartHybrid? Or has the dashboard bulb gone kaput? Or is there some issues with the glow plugs themselves?

The car starts perfectly without any issues though. Tried finding about it on YouTube / other sites, there is no particular information regarding Ciaz.

Expert help shall be highly appreciated.

Continental UC6 are possibly the best tyres you can buy for your Ciaz. I got these in 2022 and have enjoyed every KM I drove in them. Hardly any noise, awesome grip in wet road conditions, and great comfort. IMHO, this is the only tyre that is comparable to Michelins.

I have 2 queries for the experts our here; Our family owns a ciaz 1.4K series auto of 2017 make.

#1 Recently, the reverse parking sensors stopped providing the warnings based on the distance sensed, but we just keep getting the beeps as soon as put it in reverse. It is as if the sensors are not working at all, just the cautionary beeps to indicate one has put in reverse.

Is anyone else facing such issue? Is there something we can do to fix it by a DIY?

#2 Though I am satisfied with the stock Apollo 4Gs, I am looking at a upsize, stock being 195/55 R16; An upgrade in just the profile 195/60 R16

Anyone who has upgraded their tyres retaining the stock alloys?

Thank you

Do these sensors have some secret remote kill switch? Exactly the same has happening in my car as well - When I engage the reverse gear, all I hear is a continuous double beep. I'm yet to troubleshoot it. I've done a preliminary cleaning, but looks like I have to step it up to a wiring check or a fuse check or eventually a sensor check.

I have a 2019 Ciaz Alpha Diesel, its done just 60k kms. I have started feeling that there are too many niggles and cost of servicing is ever increasing.

Multiple issues with engine mounting, steering and mileage in the last 15k kms.

Thinking of replacing it now with something more reliable.

Are others also facing issues similar to this and the squeaking noises are coming from all directions.

My colleague is planning to buy an AT Ciaz.

Concerns:
1) This is a vehicle nearing the end of its life-cycle and no facelift is in sight. To be fair it still sells 600 cars each month.
2) The AT is a 4 speed gear- a relic in current sea of 6 gear Torque Convertors

Clarification Sought from fellow TBHPians:
1)Can existing AT Ciaz users share their current servicing costs?
2) Are there any issues with this AT setup?

This would influence his buying decision.

A confession- I have been trying to convince him to take the facelifted Amaze CVT top model. But the Ciaz is a higher segment.

I replaced my 2016 diesel Ciaz with Amaze CVT last year. It felt like an upgrade to me. Drivability of a CVT should be much better than a 4-speed AT.

Thanks.

1 Is there any parameter on which your Ciaz outperforms Amaze.

2 What is the mileage in city?

3 How expensive is service?

@ Mods if this post is irrelevant to Ciy thread then please delete it.

1. The feeling of space, torquey engine and efficiency.

2. Amaze is giving 14-15 kmpl in moderate city traffic, drops to 11-12 in heavy- moderate traffic.

3. Just had one major service of Amaze at 10k kms in which labour was free. I paid around 3.5k with synthetic oil.
