yes. thats the learning system of the DSG gearbox. basically, it starts shifting early and tries to hold the higher gear longer for a more economical driving. Thrash the car around for some time and it will become responsive again.

Re: 2014 Skoda Rapid 1.5L DSG : Official Review

Just came back from TD of rapid DSG at vinayak. Fantastic car went for a longish TD on ORR. Few questions though:
1. Very less dealer discount offered. Anyone else bought from this showroom and how much was the discount offered?
2. Extended warranty is increasing to ₹29000 from 16 march onwards. Is this true with all dealers??

Issue mentioned in point 1 is a dampner. I wanted to book today itself but wanted to check how much discount tafe provides.

I purchased my vehicle at Tafe access, the processing was really smooth and the pricing was considerably better than vinayak.
And yeah, I got a better deal at Tafe!
Do check with them once before finalizing.
Cheers!

Can Dushyanth and Kiran share the Tafe deals for the benefit of fellow BHPians? I was planning a Rapid DSG but being scared of the attitude of the Skoda dealership.

Try S or manual mode else moving slowly at 2nd gear in bumper to bumper traffic will spoil the clutch, I use specially while climbing parking exits, bumper to bumper traffic.

Oh, but using the manual mode in traffic will spoil the whole purpose of owning an automatic. Isn't it?

I have been trying to figure out however have not got any concrete responses so far. Does our DSG come with mineral oil or synthetic ? Skoda had claimed to have sorted out the issues by switching to mineral oil.

Recently, when my Superb TSI had annual servicing done, they used Castrol Magnatec Pro, which is a mineral oil. In previous years it used to be fully synthetic oil. So I guess, it should now be mineral oil in your case also.

Update - Got seat covers done of Autoform brand from Noida. Paid 9k for the job. Workmanship could have been a notch better but satisfied overall with the outcome. Link as below

Re: 2014 Skoda Rapid 1.5L DSG : Official Review

Anyone got call from Skoda for firmware update? yesterday they took my car and updated the same, don't know how to verify it, but sure there's a change is cars character, it's more peppy, 2nd gear is improved a lot no more struggling at low speed, breaks are having more bites, not sure how firmware upgrade improved the breaks as well.

There seems to be a variant called Elegance Plus that gets leather upholstery? Any photos if these are seat covers or actual upholstery?

The biggest difference between the Vento and Rapid was Vento not having projectors and cruise control but has leatherette seats. Now that the Elegance Plus has leather seats, teh Rapid is better equipped than the Vento in all aspects and is a few grand lesser with discounts running.
