So I checked the owner's manual. There is no leaf in this book is for the AMC. I will go meet with the sales guy in person and find out more about this documentation.
The AMC doc would be a separate booklet. Will not be part of the owner's manual.
Btw, looks like TML is adopting a practice that AMC coverage will be done during scheduled services. Not sure how it will work.

Concord had advanced my last free service by a couple of months when i went ahead with problems in front suspension of my twist (stick shift). My colleague had also the same experience on his zest @ Concord where they clubbed service + AMC claim, as again in his case it was only a month.
I guess that they will have to take it up on a case by case basis depending on the nature of the repair.
Cheers

I got a separate booklet detailing the terms & conditions when I got my first nano. Now they told me that there is no separate booklet and it is included in the blue welcome kit folder that you would have received with your car. One leaf in this book is for the AMC. If you opt for AMC, the dealer will fill up this page and stamp it. And AMC can be used anywhere and not only at the particular dealer. You could confirm if this is true. |

Congrats NiXTriX2004 on your Purple Nano. Like alphahere mentions, this is a separate booklet that is present in the Blue welcome kit. The AMC booklet also doubles up as the Service Manual with coupons for the various services. The specific Gold / Silver package is ticked in the relevant owners info page.
Cover photo attached for your ref.
I took the plunge :-) Booked Sangria red XTA. I took the test drive on a car that had sunroof. For additional 17 k I think its worth the looks :-) After all its the most afordable rear wheel driven plus automatic to have sun roof lol:
Leave aside the sunroof - there isn't any rear engine rear wheel drive car available in India this side of Rs 50 lakhs - I am sure the cheapest Porsche goes for more!
Please make sure you make them give you that AMC booklet.
My 2010 Nano's Silver AMC got lapsed in 2012 since I missed the scheduled yearly AMC service by a week.
Then I was suggested that I buy a 5yr Silver AMC plan again for Rs.4k while the job card was open, which I did. They'd said it covered for 2 services per year.
However they didn't issue me the booklet stating they didn't have stock of the booklet to print on etc & they'll have it sent to me by courier. Same story even after many visits to the ASC. Then it was my mistake to not remember to follow up.
From 2014 onwards I faced many issues for scheduled AMC with ASC saying that it was expired etc. Whereas the only single proof I had was a printed receipt that didn't even have the dealer's name, stating just the validity from 2012 - 17.
But now they've blocked my AMC & I haven't the time to bother running around & proving them the point.
So basically, please ensure you collect your AMC booklet.
I have a query that might be a stupid one. I wanted to know if the owners of AMT have faced this issue before. What happens if the car stalls and doesn't start? Can I still get some helping hand and try to push it and start like the conventional manual transmission cars?please:
A big Thank You to all the members here. I have managed to get the AMC booklet from the dealer based on the advice and recommendations of all.
All that remains to be seen is if the service is actually any good.
Is there any e-mail address to which I can give feedback about the whole buying experience?
My mother who is the owner of the car received a feedback call but it was horrendous. First off the person at the spoke in only in Hindi. My mother cannot speak it that well but somehow managed to hold her nerve and answer a few questions. But only till he asked in which state was Bangalore located. She hung up asking him to pick up an atlas or to go back to school.lol:

If you dont get a response in next day or two, you can safely assume that Tata Nano AMT is a reliable car unlike most of the non-Tata owners think.
In my 5 years of ownership with my Indigo Marina, I never had to put up with a downtime situation and stranded on the streets. So as my 6 years ownership with Safari.
I wish you dont get a response :)
Prem.

For TML, as well as for many other such callers, my standard response is to ask for an English speaker; this almost always works. Nuisance spam calls usually just hang up.
Got a call from Prerana motors today about a JDP event (I believe it means JD Power Asia Pacific) being organised at the Prerana showroom on the coming Sunday (15th May 2016). The caller said select customers are being called in for a general check up of their vehicle along with some games/events/lunch. Had to decline as I have other plans for that day.
It seems you can book the Genx Nano online through the Tata motors online booking site.
This is the site :
https://bookonline.tatamotors.com/book-a-car/nano
You can make an online deposit for Rs.5001 and make a booking deposit. Not all dealers participate in this. I was looking for Hyderabad - and it was giving me 3 options . I dont know if this is faster than going to the dealership and making the deposit.
Has anyone used this option yet ? If yes - then how was the whole transaction and the process ? And what type of payments do they accept for this online deposit - I am assuming a debit or credit card.
Thanks.
I have done the online booking. I did it from Hyderabad for getting my car in Bangalore. It's easy and simple like other shopping websites. All types of payment accepted.

What about the discounts/cashback/bonus offers (upto 65K in discounts, as per newspaper ad), which you typically get from your dealer, when you book online?
Also, with some persuasion, the dealer typically adds some freebies too. Will all this hold for an online booking?
