Honda Jazz : Official Review

I have observed a strange phenomenon about my Petrol Jazz (VMT). The car feels much smoother and refined once the fuel starts approaching empty mark. Sounds stupid but even my Swift used to give me such feeling. Could there be any reason or it's all in my mind (not really because I ACTUALLY feel the difference)

I feel other way round. My jazz v cvt feels more stable and more silent with fuel tank fully filled.

Can you please let me know what FE are you getting in city?

I'm planning on buying the V CVT, and I'm curious about fuel figures. I'd be driving mostly in the city, much of which could be bumper to bumper traffic.

I am getting 13.6 - 13.9 km/l in VMT Jazz in city with 50% AC ON.

I get around 12 with around half city and half highway driving with AC on all the time...

Thank you. I'm confused between the Jazz and Baleno (CVTs). The Jazz is more solidly built and has better safety rating which is higher priority for me than some of the missing goodies (which baleno offers, such as the start stop button, uv glass etc).
Since I'll be driving daily to office on my new ride, I wanted to check the FE as well. And I'm not too happy

Hi, I own a V CVT bought this year. With AC on all the time, expect a fuel efficiency of 12-13km/l max with the condition you have mentioned.

FE depends on the way you drive and also traffic enroute. If driven sensibly with single /2 passengers onboard you can expect the FE to be around 15-16 which I get in city driving that too in peak office hour traffic. Only downside I found is the power in 2nd gear which is not that great, apart from that Jazz is miles ahead when compared to Baleno

I own a 3 month V CVT too and The highest I've ever gotten is 6.9km/l.

The car is driven primarily in bumper to bumper traffic.

EDIT: The car is used for extremely short distance every other day, 1-2 km at a time. Three months old and the odo reads 500km only.
My limited running could be the reason for the dismal fuel economy. Please don't get discouraged by my low figures

When you want to have some fun, slot it into the S mode and use paddle shifts

. If you have FE in mind, don't do it.
I would like to point out that my car is running on 195/60 tyres, this may or may not be contributing to less FE than advertised, and I keep the tyre pressure as suggested by Honda. Also I don't follow a sedate driving style.
Note that the initial pickup is slow when you start from a standstill, which you might have already read about.

I owned Swift before and the major irritant after switching to Honda Jazz was torque at low speeds. But now got used to it. Other than that, no complaints. Engine is super refined and economical.

But note that this is not at all a driver's car in city. On highways, it pleases the "Driver" in you to some extent. But in city, you have to helplessly watch other cars moving swiftly after signal turns green while yours still deciding to wake up

(Bit exaggeration..but you got the point)

I'm looking at the CVT and I guess your point will be much more valid for the CVT version. :(

I am not sure about CVT. I have manual transmission. I have now adopted the "out of sync" property of Jazz. Out of sync means, you hear the engine revving but it does not translate to speed immediately. In Swift, it was simple. You press the throttle and you get the speed. WYSIWYG. Period.

But I forgive Jazz because otherwise she is rattle free and bit refined than Swift !
