Re: Maruti S-Cross : Official Review

No arguments, was just a hope

I would say that the fact you are here means you are not the average mango man.
Not all of us here are experts on automobiles, but we do share a passion for them.

Lets get back to the S Cross.

I happened to be following one on my way to work.
The road in one area is surfaced but bumpy due to our usual high standards of road works.
Most cars have to slow down (<30 KM/h) here to avoid getting bounced off the road.
The S Cross went over it with nearly no body movement at around 40 + (I was following on my bike and was doing over that).
That shows the ability of it's suspension to keep things in control.

Re: Maruti S-Cross : Official Review

Just another example why S-Cross 1.6 is an amazing Highway Cruiser. It effortlessly cruises at 110 KM/h touch below 2000 rpm. Returned an overall FE of 20.1 kmpl during my weekend drive of 160 kms from Bangalore to Mysore tonight with usual Friday night traffic. Maintained healthy rpm levels of below 2000 rpm all through the drive with speed ranging from 90-110 km/h as i am still in run-in period with 700 kms during first week of ownership. Can't wait to finish the run in period, flush the oil out for new and the great feel of torque monster with hard foot.

Tomorrow all mods will be completed and hopefully i will publish the ownership report of my SILVER KNIGHT (named it today) by this weekend.

PS: Safety was not compromised while taking the pic of cruising speed, as my friend managed to click it and my full concentration was on road and wheels. SAFETY FIRST!!

Congrats Mi10, those wheels look hot on the white scross. Good selection of tyres and alloys. How much did you pay and what was the exchange price for the same.

Wish you happy miles, can you also check on your doors and let me know if you see any gap between the plastic cladding and the metal part on the doors, ideally there shouldn't be any gap, however the car I saw had it.

This is the picture that made me fall in love again with this car. What a masterpiece.

How is the NVH levels at speeds between 90-120 kmph? Have you say at these speeds in a Swift?

The NVH @ 90 to 140 is next to nothing; it's very smooth. It just flies effortlessly!

Has anyone been able to connect the 4th quadrant with an iPhone?

Or is there any other way to mirror iPhone screen on the centre console?

Looking to use google maps on it.

The Penguin was a different thing. This is a new and different breed. Naming ceremony will be conducted soon

Cool. Those black alloys look hot. OT I noticed that most S-Cross owners post the pic from the rear. Post a pic front the front. Interested to see what effect those aloys have on the looks from that angle. Momo's are fast becoming the S-Cross alloy brand.

So this goes the Gypsy way now. Full payment upfront and a wait of 4 - 5 months while the S-Cross gets built to order. Rare chance to get a TD before buying too.

Now Maruti's haste to clean the 1.6 stock makes sense.
Drive on,
Shibu.

I have highlighted in red, excuse the marking as the photo editor in my phone didn't have a lot of options.

Re: Maruti S-Cross : Official Review

Maybe this question is off-topic, but my parents are very skeptical about the S-Cross. They got feedback from some friends about the low sales of the S-Cross. They fear that the model may be discontinued after a while and that the spare parts might be not available after some years. Is there any law in India which ensures that the vehicle manufacturers are mandated to provide spare parts for a vehicle for a particular period of time after its launch? Or will this situation not arise as the manufacturer in question is Maruti Suzuki?

Firstly, the S-Cross is not doing that poorly. It is just selling low volumes in comparison to the likes of the Creta. The car is still a key part of Maruti's plan on becoming more premium so it is here to stay.

Now, if we were to pretend that it might, by some chance, be pulled out from the market, you still have nothing to worry as I believe the law mandates that parts be made available for 14 years more. As the owner of a much rarer breed that was never even made here, I can tell you that ownership has never been a pain so I can only imagine that it would be a lot easier for you guys to keep your locally built S-Cross which sold pretty decent numbers, for a long time to come even if by some unfathomable chance, Maruti decided to pull it off showroom floors
