You seem in great position to analyse the differences among 1.3, remapped 1.3 and 1.6 DDIS. Please do take care to observe the performance below 1750 RPM in 1.6 because this area is much discussed and with different opinions, also compare engine noise. Please let's us know the driveability of 1.6 below turbo zone as per your perspective without comparing it to 1.3 (since 1.3 is superior in that zone) .

A couple of months ago I was offered a deal on 2015 S-Cross 1.6 Delta (Delta was already stretching my budget) that was very hard to refuse.

Before saying a big YES I wanted to be very sure about the car. By far it is considered the best drivers car below 2 mn INR.

I drove for about 10 kms on Outer Ring Road on a Sunday afternoon which had mixed traffic conditions (signals with bumper to bumper traffic and some open stretches to touch triple digits without risking fellow drivers).

Every time I crossed 2000 RPM mark I had a big smile. However, every time it took almost an eternity to cross the 2000 RPM mark on 3rd and 4th gears. To some extent 2nd gear as well. The engine is almost BINARY in nature. No wonder the ton comes so late for such a powerful car.

I had a big reality check for an urban commuter. 98% of my driving time and 80% of the KMs will happen in Bangalore traffic. The very purpose of big torque was defeated for me - as the engine had nothing to offer below the 2000 RPM mark.

I asked myself a question: In city bumper to bumper traffic how often would you be above 2000 RPM mark and how often would you be below the 2000 RPM mark. I figured that about 80% of the 98% driving time will be spent below 2000 RPM mark.

I asked myself a hard question - would you want to drive a dead car 80% of the 98% time. I somehow could not convince myself for the 1.6.

While the power and torque is really makes you fly - it is just not there to keep you comfortable for most of your driving time.

With a very heavy heart I had to say no. Reality check took over.

BTW: I also drove the Brezza multiple times - while there was nothing mad about the power - it behaved in a very predictable way. That engine was not BINARY like the 1.6 and gave enough to keep moving in bumper to bumper conditions below the 2K RPM mark.

This looks much better. Accessory manager had offered me alloy wheels of Brezza. I had decided on Momo Win Pro Evo and now again confused. I would save lot of VIT M

There should not be any issue in fixing Brezza's alloys on an S-Cross - they have the same size and PCD. Even tyres are exactly the same size - 205/60R16. Go ahead and make your car look good.

If i am not wrong, Brezza has 215/60 R16 tyres, but the alloys will fit to T.

Yes, you are right. Thanks for correcting me.

The Z variants of Brezza come with 215 section tyres while the lower variants come with 205 section tyres. The alloy size (width especially) remains the same I believe.

Tyre size is 215/60R16 if I am not wrong. May be we can still use 205/60R16 on these alloys. Thanks for updating fitness of PCD!

If these alloys were available for S-Cross at its initial stages, it would have surely attracted many folks !!

PS : The image is of our Official Team-BHP review, if image is viewed in full resolution, it can be noticed that Brezza alloys are added through Photoshop !!

They are accepting booking as well.

Surprisingly, the RM (Vipul Nexa) has no info about 1.6 variants being discontinued.
I got a call from Pasco (Gurgaon) offering a TD and then he has gone silent on me. Does not make for a favourable impression. I am wondering what the OTR cost would be, what I can claw back as discounts, and if they have the car or not. Can't understand marketing when it does not want to market. Appreciate any leads from all of you pros! Any specific actions I should be taking? Calling someone else?

Looks like I am the only who did not like the look at all. I would prefer third party alloys such as Momo and all, rather getting the Brezza ones.

I asked my Nexa dealer to put Brezza alloys to my 1.6 S cross. Cost is 25K and they won't buy back stock alloys. Few suggested me not to go for aftermarket alloys saying it won't have same strength as Stock alloys. I am saving around 15k by going for Brezza alloys instead of Momo.

Delivery is scheduled on Tuesday

I am waiting for the alloys Dr. Have you forgotten :(

Since you got a good deal on Brezza alloys, I should also be getting a good deal on those un-wanted alloys right. So, when can I have mine
