Re: Maruti S-Cross : Official Review

Hi all- the stock bulbs seem to be of no use in my scross 1.3 zeta version? Any pointers to which one I can replace without voiding the warranty?

You may try Philips Xtreme Vision(MGA) or Osram Nightbreaker Unlimited https://www.amazon.in/Osram-P64193-Night-Breaker-Unlimited/dp/B00EPLCP3U/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1480771893&sr=8-1&keywords=osram+nightbreaker

I have replaced the stock lamps with Bosch Gigalight. Marked improvement is there.

I have used Phillips Xtreme vision on my previous car. That one also is good. Better than the stock lamp (I think Halonix).
Gigalight has slightly better output than the Xtreme vision.

Re: Maruti S-Cross : Official Review

I was speaking to a dealer in Gurgaon and he told me that the waiting period for a 1.6 White Alpha is 45-60 days. Is this real? I was assuming it would be below 15-20 days or so for sure.

1.6 is in the 'made to order' category. So, the waiting period of 45-60 days may be correct. (I have not enquired recently on this one.) But, as a practice, you get the vehicle much before than the initial waiting period intimated.

Another query on the tyre upgrade.

Did anyone upgrade the tyres to 215/60R16?. It will increase the GC by around 6-7mm. Speedo error will be within 2%.

The issue I'm thinking of is related to the OEM alloy wheel. I'm not interested in replacing the alloy wheel, but would like to go for the 215/60 tyre as wanted a little more GC to take care of some of the very bad patches of road I have to encounter frequently.

The size of the alloy is 16 x 6J. Most of the recommended maximum size of the tyre for this alloy is 205/60. Just wanted to know anyone upgraded to 215/60 with the existing alloys?

SX4 also has 205/60 R16 tyres and I guess alloys are also 16 * 6J. I have upsized to 215/60 R16 in my SX4. I did get balancing and alignment done.

Regarding S-Cross, I am running with stock JK tyres and planning to switch to better tyres in same specs. 215 makes the steering little more stiffer and feels better at high speeds.

You can safely go for 215/60 on those alloys. Brezza uses the same 16 x 6J size alloys, and it comes with 215/60 as OEM size in ZDi+.

Thanks Shashi.
I thought Brezza ZDi+ using 16x6.5J size alloys. Thanks for the clarification.

Brezza uses 16X6 1/2J size alloys in ZDI and ZDI+ variants. The spare is a steel rim with size 16X6J.

Re: Maruti S-Cross : Official Review

Just now saw a New S-Cross 1.6 DDiS in Premium Silver color. What surprised me are the Alloys. They were really good. So, has Maruti replaced those Ugly Wheel Cap like Alloys with new design one ?

Those Alloys looked OEM. Also, the grey finish complemented the car very well.

Any plans from Maruti to launch Diesel Automatic ?

Did they introduce the new alloy wheel in 1.3 or only for 1.6?

Thanks both. I will check out both these and get the upgrade done. The current stock lamps are pathetic and needs urgent change as the night driving for me has increased.

I would have gladly extended for the 1.6 Delta which was at 12.8L OTR if only 1.6 still came out in lower variants.

For 1.3 alpha, extending by almost 1.5L for auto wipers, headlights, irvm and leather wrapped steering wheel did not make sense.
Also, NEXA promised me seat covers at a low price anyways. i would probably get the auto irvm as well sometime later if i really do need it.
Auto headlamps and auto wipers arent my thing anyways so wouldnt be missing them.

Projectors though yeah. but cant be spending 1.5L just for them.

ok so, we had some differences with NEXA regarding our exchange vehicle and cancelled the booking.

We have decided to up the budget a bit and have booked a Duster in RXL.
