From last couple of months my SCross used to rattle a lot on uneven roads or say for no reason. Main culprits were armrest and rear parcel tray. Complained to Maruti during service but they failed to solve it or say they never really tried to solve it. So finally after living with rattling for over a month i decided to solve it on my own.Trust me i solved the irritating noises in an hour by detecting rattle points. In my case i found total 7 of those points and i just sticked rubber pieces at those points and solved the issue completely :) My car is now dead silent from inside but i can hear the angry motor more clearly now. I have attached some pictures of those points. So if you facing same rattling then give it a try. Hope it helps.:D

Dear Friends,
Lately I am feeling that the clutch of my 1.6 SCross has gone very heavy.
It becomes heavier after half an hour of drive and is even more problematic while releasing the clutch.
Any guidance on this please.
Regards.

Bleed the clutch if possible.
Sometimes that helps

Ok. Im a noob on how these parts work. But, isnt S-Cross supposed to have a self adjusting clutch?
Question to S-Cross owners using Stock JK Tyres :
I have run around 10K KM in stock tyres. I have observed that under hard braking, tyres screech a lot. Is this normal with these tyres?

The most I can say about these tyres is that change them as soon as you feel that they are about to get old. By this I mean that change them much before they actually wear out. I have not had a pleasant experience with JK in the past. Though I am talking about the ones which were on my swift about 5-7 years back stupid:. In my swift they literally had their outer layer off and damaged the vehicle not once but twice. JK may have improved slightly on the quality used, but I for one would not be willing to take any risks on it.
On another note, shouldn't any tyres stay quiet under hard braking due to abs? Isn't that's what abs is there to prevent?

It's a hard compound tyre and the screeching sound under hard braking is natural. I have completed 22K KMs on JK Elanzo and it is working satisfactorily.

My SX4 had JK Vectra as stock tyres and those never screeched under hard braking. ABS would kick in and the typical pulsations would be felt. ABS is supposed to prevent the wheels from locking and I do not know if it would help against screeching sound. I can live with this stock Elanzo tyres, but post remap acceleration is just brutal and I find tyres plus brakes inadequate.

Yes, it is harder than even JK Vectra. I guess this tyre would have good life on our road conditions. Do you encounter this screeching very often under hard braking( say at around 100 KMPH)?

My driving style is different and me braking hard is seldom. (Unless some unanticipated situation arises.)
If you hard brake on a concrete road, the screeching is more. On good tar surface roads, the screeching is minimal even if hard braking is applied.

Maruti/Nexa dealers have not removed the price list of lower variants. But it is updated in the brochure and 1.6 is available only in Alpha trim. I guess few dealers still have unsold 1.6 in lower variants.
