Re: Maruti S-Cross : Official Review

Hi. I had recently discovered that the extended warranty which I had signed up for was restricted to "Sai Service". This was absurd as all warranties till date have been with the company.

Wrote to Maruti and then got to know there are 2 warranties. Nexa warranty which is a bit more expensive offered by Maruti which allows us to service car at any service station without affecting the warranty and another which has been offered by dealer which is restrictive.

I am now getting my warranty changed to Nexa warranty from the dealer warranty. Prospective buyers please check before you sign up.

Re: Maruti S-Cross : Official Review

Has anybody got his Scross from the MG Road Gurgaon Nexa? I had booked a granite grey 1.6 last month. But the showroom has not been allotted a vehicle. They got a silver one but that is booked by another customer. The wait is agonizing. How long does it usually take? Getting a little restless now :(

Since the 1.6 Alpha is a "Made-to-order" vehicle, getting one readily or faster is difficult.

Other than waiting and pestering your RM, there is nothing much you can do.

Plus shoot a mail to Maruti and also the NEXA head so things move faster.

Is this practice followed by all manufacturers or is it only MSIL? Never heard something like this before.

I believe you have been taken for a ride. I had this issue when I bought Ritz from Sai service where in they provided a extended warranty supported by Sai service and by Maruti. Now the funny thing one Sai's compitator and different dealer of Maruti called and informed that from system we could see you have purchased car from Sai , and they do have this practice of cheating customers over extended warranty. They also told you can complaint to Maruti Cochin regional center where they actively take it with Sai for issuing Maruti warranty or reimburse the amount collected. Now before taking it with Maruti I went Sai dealership where in they senced an escalation and issued me a Maruti extended warranty at no cost. Also note there was not much difference in cost between the same. I heard later Sai is still cheating lot of customers for the same .

I'd rather suggest contacting 3-4 other NEXA outlets to check if they have one in stock. Doesn't hurt to check, at the same time inform your RM about your intention to pick one up from wherever available instead of his outlet. This is the best you can do right now.

Re: Maruti S-Cross : Official Review

Hi,

Just a question. Can the HU from Alpha version be fitted on to a Delta? Will that involve what kind of mods? Finally, will that void any warranty?

Thanks in advance.

Maruti doesn't sell Alpha HU as accessory. I just checked the part diagrams for Delta and Alpha. I am not sure if it would be direct / perfect fit.

Thanks to a Team-BHP Fan (who prefers to remain anonymous) for sharing this information.

The S-Cross now gets ISOFIX.

The S-Cross now gets ISOFIX.
So now all the Nexa variants have ISOFIX as standard along with Ciaz. This is commendable.

Baleno also gets ISOFIX mounts as standard according to this news report. Don't know if it's already discussed on Baleno thread.

Girish,

Theoretically, the Alpha HU should fit in Delta.
Make sure you get the GPS unit along with Alpha HU else the maps won't work.

Practically, the connector pins have to checked before deciding the swap.

Warranty shouldn't be a problem as it is a BOM part of the same car.

Thanks Naren,

Looks like the only additional component among the two is the one marked as 13, 14, 15 in figure 2.

Spoke to my RM and he said it's possible, but they won't do it : rules:

Thanks for replying.

Can you please explain the GPS part? Will it be separate from HU.

Since the person is upgrading entire infotainment system with HU, speakers etc, I'm sure he will dispose GPS too.

Based on diagram posted by Naren,
Part no 13, 14, 15 seems to be the GPS unit.
