I too thought so. I couldn't think of any other reason for that kind of placement. This is the reason I logged IAT under various conditions. I couldn't find any difference. As you said the ambient temperature is cooler these days. Also I do not believe that OE design is best here. IAT of my S-Cross is much higher compared to my Baleno or SX4. Suzuki could have definitely figured out a better placement. Anyways, I am not planning to run with the initial part of intake removed for ever . I will run like this for few more days and update here.

Surprising considering I saw two S Cross's yesterday at NEXA. Both were of the 1.3 Variant. There was also one test car in the 1.6 variant!

Maruti discontinued 1.6 Delta & Zeta atleast since July 2016. Even the old stocks weren't available at any dealer (Bangalore & Chennai) in Dec 2016. Maruti updated their website only a week or 2 ago on this.

Re: Maruti S-Cross : Official Review

The outstanding mileage achieved on the journey from Pune to Nashik went for a toss on the return journey. There was an epic traffic jam at one of the small towns on the way (Rajgurunagar) and that brought the entire trip's mileage down to 21.9.

Up until that traffic jam, the car was sailing happily and mileage hovering around 24-25 kmpl constantly. But, 21.9 is still a decent mileage for highway, if not outstanding. I know some chaps extract 20+ in the city ( I dont how in God's name do they extract that kind of mileage)

The highway manners of the car make me smile a lot and satisfaction level just goes up a notch everytime I do a highway trip. Fabulous product, slightly marred by below average sales and service experience, considering its a premium brand.

I also used cruise control to good effect this time. Love that thing !

What do I still miss :
* 1.6 engine's killer torque
* Slightly better suspension setup to make the 2nd row experience better
* 2nd row AC vents ( Not a major problem as such)

Maruti discontinues Two lower variants of S-Cross due to poor demand.

http://auto.ndtv.com/news/maruti-suz...-cross-1654034

The company has discontinued the Delta and Zeta variants of the S-Cross and now the more powerful 1.6-litre engine will be available in only the top Alpha variant.

Lower variants of 1.6 were discontinued way back in June/July 2016, and the 1.6 Alpha was made on order only since then. These sources are recycling old news.

This is also old news; the new alloy wheels have been in SCross since 2016 Nov or Dec. The only thing added, may be considered for 2017, is ISOFIX.

Mine is a 2016 model.
To be honest, I don't know how the ISOFIX looks like.
I'll check on it today.

Also on another note, I am planning to upgrade the upholstery for my car.
I want a good Steering leather wrap and seat upholstery, any suggestions with price.
The NEXA dealer suggested getting fake leather seats around 11k. Original leather costs around 25K.
Can someone please suggest a good option for me, I am basically looking for a good quality Leather steering wrap and seat upholstery. Budget around 30K.

Zeta/Alpha variant owners, how good or bad are the fog lights? I am planning to get them fitted on my Delta.

I do have the OEM fog set up on the 1.3 Zeta. It gives a little bit of concentrated lighting in the near front. Not much of a good visibility.

Re: Maruti S-Cross : Official Review

Below is the picture showing the difference between Delta and Zeta/Alpha variants fog lamp housing, can I just get the fog lamp housing from MSIL?

I will have to look out for someone who can cut the existing fog lamp housing and install these in Delhi/NCR.

Re: Maruti S-Cross : Official Review

Update:

Today, after a bit of time, Sai Service (Nexa Lower Parel) formally agreed to swap the Sai Service extended warranty with the Suzuki extended warranty. I did read the fine print before handing over the Sai Service warranty back.

If anyone here has been given or has decided to take Sai Service extended warranty period - you will have to get your insurance done only through New India Assurance. That is what it seemed like - please verify the details so you don't get stiffed during the Warranty extension period.

Re: Maruti S-Cross : Official Review

Been reading a lot of posts on this thread and wondering how folks with the 1.6 S-Cross are managing a Fuel economy beyond 20kmpl. I've been noticing about 16-17kmpl in mixed driving conditions. Not that I've been caring enough with the throttle but still 22kmpl and beyond seems quite far fetched.
