Yes, ex-showroom price is the same. The road tax is 10%, and its 8% for cars below 10 lakh.

The breakup as per the price list:
Cost: 12.57
Insurance: 0.41
Road Tax: 1.25
Ex. Warranty: 17.7
Nexa Card: 1.1
Basic kit: 6.9
Total: 14.50

The insurance can be easily brought down and they offered a corporate discount too on top without any hassle. A little over 14 OTR looks easy.

Someone mentioned on this thread that stock size itself is perfect. Upsize may cause issues(I cannot find who said it)
When I enquired in Hyderabad for exchange of the Elanzo's this is the following quote I got

1) Michelin Primacy 3ST 205/60 R16 - Rs 4000 per tire after buyback
2) Michelin Primacy 3ST 215/60 R16 - Rs 4000 per tire after buyback- Almost same price quoted
3) Continental MC5 215/60 R16 - 4100 per tire after buy back (Tyre price is Rs 8600 and buyback is 4500)

For Rs 20,000/-I get to exchange the tires and can get either Michelin Primacy 3ST or Continental MC5. Which is the better tire. Majority here seem to go with Michelins

Thanks

I will suggest Michelins for low road noise and excellent ride comfort. Go for Contis if you travel extensively over bad roads.

WOW!!! That is some great buyback price (Rs. 4500 - you sure its for one tire and not the whole set, right ) you are getting for the Elanzos. Grab the offer before the tire guy checks this forum and realizes the value of the Elanzos. An year back, I got Rs. 3500 per tire here in Bangalore and in today's date, many tire dealers do not buyback stock Elanzos.

Michelins have softer compound than Contis even though both are soft compound tires - hence are more silent and offer even better ride. I use Contis and am pretty happy with them. They offer good ride and handling balance. I find the noise to be slightly on the higher side - compared to Michelins.

Not too bad for a model that is considered to be "failure model" by many ( Heard that today from a Sales guy in Honda when I went to checkout the facelifted City). Creta is another league altogether. S-Cross has not outsold any of the competition but is maintaining a decent lead against the established and more SUV-ish Duster and 7 seater BR-V. But to be frank, I expected BR-V to have sold much lesser. Except a couple of months where the production was de-prioritized (100s and 300s), it has maintained a constant 2000-ish, which is not a bad thing for a car sold in much lesser number of showrooms compared to other Marutis and Hyundai.

I am also Leaning towards Michelins. Overall it has better reviews than the continental. Just the upsize to 215 from 205 is the question mark.

I am waiting for the car now. Sunday was supposed to be the PDI but it kept getting postponed. Hope to do it tomorrow and release the balance payment.

Offtopic: Vigkey is your name Vignesh K on the Scross 1.6 Group. I was the one who asked about the issues related to your car.

If you ask me, 205 is good enough for the car - it is not under-tired by any means. Upsizing will be more of want than a need, IMHO. With the specs you have mentioned, you will get a slight increase in ground clearance and have slightly better ride than stock. This will also improve grip levels by a bit. Might slightly impact your fuel efficiency though.

I paid 18k at Ashoka Wheels in Hyderabad without bargaining and as a walk in customer for Michelin's, no upsizing.
He was ready to fix Pirelli for 15k and was recommending them over Michelin's. Not sure whether I took a wise decision of not opting for Pirelli and also saving money.
On another note, changing from JK was the best decision I took. All buyers if S Cross must change tyres immediately after purchasing without fail. A 20k expense on the 10-15 lakh car is a must.

For comparison, Scross numbers are way more impressive than the Made for India - AMEO (VW)

Re: Maruti S-Cross : Official Review

I have tried to demonstrate with a video on how to access hidden settings display in S-Cross Alpha HU. Long press the settings button and it shows a lot of information including GPS speed. The car was parked in basement and therefore it shows zero satellites connected.

Re: Maruti S-Cross : Official Review

Hi guys,

I am interested in buying the 1.3 Zeta version. I am not getting much discounts/ offers. The best they can give is 2.3 lakhs for my 2010 Fiat Punto 1.3 MJD Emotion Pack + 10,000 Corporate Discount + 10,000 off by not opting the basic accessories pack. This is in Bangalore, by the way.

Does anyone know if I can get any other offers for the model?

Thanks

1. Sell your Punto through external source; even Olx fetches better value than selling to dealers
2. Discount is less IMHO; would suggest visiting multiple Nexa dealers for better discounts

Not a direct comparison but I had 2009 Swift VDI and Nexa offered me 2.4 , their point was as I will still use car for another 4 months ( Baleno waiting) it is what max they can offer.
I finally ended up with i20 and Hyundai gave me 3.0 as exchange.

Re: Maruti S-Cross : Official Review

After 18 months of ownership, I have decided to get full bucket seat covers for my stock seats. I've been on the lookout for something that would pique my interest and I have finally found something right at the home of the S-Cross. While at the NEXA showroom last weekend with a friend I saw these seat covers (attachment) on a delivery car. I contacted a trusted seat covers manufacturer and took the design to him. It is a NEXA design which they have on offer as an accessory. To cut the story short, I paid the advance on Monday, the covers have been custom made and are ready for installation. I'll be taking my car to his workshop in an hour, just thought I'd put a "before" post rather than a long post later on.

I will get into the costing along with pictures later tonight. For the fabrication, black Napa Leather (grain-less) has been used. Excited much
