Looks like a strategy to normalize the total cost per service.
Having more labour cost in 20/40/60k service will result in a 12k + service bill

I am contemplating a tyre change in the next 6 months. 225 55 r16 might have to go after 40 k km. Can you share some shots of the 215s in the wheel arches. I hate the receded tyre looks and hence not planning 205s. Budgetting for the car is a bit on the lower side for the next year, might as well consider the Elanzos as I am planning to keep the car only for another year or two.

If you are planning for 225/55/R16, should have the alloys of minimum size 16 x 6.5. The original batches came with 16 x6j. So, make sure that the wheel size is 6.5.

Re: Maruti S-Cross : Official Review

I cleaned the cabin air filter myself today. The stock filter which is present from factory is made in Germany. I need to check if replacement filters are also same.

Attaching two pictures as desired. I would be sending you another 10-15 pictures by PM shortly.

Anyone updated Android auto in head unit? Did the update patch reach the service outlets?

Have checked with my RM and he had no clue. He said I would get a call from service centre once the update is ready.

Maruti is not doing it officially. But I have seen few S-Cross guys getting it done . It fails one or two times during flashing and then it works perfectly.

Might as well consider taking some other member's Elanzo set which has run for about 10k kms. If you're looking to keep the car for a maximum of 2 years (25k kms) then investing in a new set doesn't make sense. Speaking from personal experience, the condition of your tyres at the time of sale must be good. Prospective buyers ask for either a new set or a depreciated value if your rubber isn't upkeep.

Guys,
I damaged my Left ORVM due to my negligence today. The plastic shell has broken from inside and has come out slightly. It is now stuck in a tucked in state. Even if I press the ORVM button, I can hear the sound of mechanism trying to push the mirror out but it doesn't.
The turn indicator lights still work though

I didn't apply too much force to push it out as i thought it might damage it further.
Any idea what can be done?
Would replacing it be best solution? Is the electronic ORVM covered under zero dep insurance?

There are only 3 items which can be bought as parts in mirror assembly
1. the glass
2. the cover ( not painted)
3. the complete mirror assembly

it looks like something is broken in the mirror assembly. You will have to remove the mirror and understand where the problem is.

A similar incident from Ertiga thread here

if you end up replacing the full assembly, do not forget to get the broken one home; some parts can be salvaged for any damages in future.

Thanks for the info arjithin!
I went to the maruti workshop and found that the problem wasn't as bad as i was imagining it to be.
The technician at the service center applied bit more force and pulled the mirror out and told me to try out the electronic functions.
Fortunately everything worked! A bit more fiddling around with the outershell and it now fits decently. The SA advised me to apply transparent tape just to be on safe side.
Cost Rs 0!

On a different note i checked with the SA for android auto update for the infotainment system to which he said that the update isn't out yet for S-cross and that it would arrive but may take months.
He asked me whether i had received any mail from Bosch regarding update. He mentioned was customers are supposed to get update notification mails from Bosch regarding any updates!
I don't know how valid this mail thing is!

Re: Maruti S-Cross : Official Review

Done !!! I followed Naren's steps and flashed 1740. As mentioned, it failed the first time at 96%. So flashed it again (remove pen drive and insert it again) and it completed successfully the 2nd time.

FINALLY I could see some life in the 4th quadrant of Scross' system. I did not have Android Auto app installed, so it did not work the first time after rebooting the system. Will try again in the evening and will post an update.

By the way, all your 'Favorite' settings will get reset, for instance Radio stations.
