I would strongly disagree with this. I have run more than 24000 KM and my car is not babied. The car is not even stock and pushed much higher with remap, downpipe, throttle body delete etc . Call me mad, I have exploited the beast fully. I have lost the count of 0-100 runs I have done. The clutch is still holding good. There are no glitches whatsoever even with pushing the car to limits. What I can say is this engine is a gem and pretty strong.

Cheers!

Re: Maruti S-Cross : Official Review

Sorry for going OT - Just couldn't resist myself from posting this!

Met a fellow BHP'ian this weekend at MSM Chennai.

The moment I spotted the decal of a reputed ICE installer on his Beast (yes it was a Brown S-Cross 1.6), I introduced myself and had a good 15 mins demo of his ICE.

The DSP, SO Audio Components, Sinus Live Amp, Alpine Sub were too good. The Soundstage was just perfect.

Before leaving, I asked him if he has any plans of getting the 1.6 remapped

Re: 2016 Suzuki S-Cross facelift leaked. EDIT: Spotted testing in India!

Sure, like I mentioned these were test drive vehicles.
Attempt one (1.6): The shock absorbers had perished. This is serious, by the way. There was a lot of noise and rattling in the cabin. Gears werent slotting into place. Number on Odo was 10,000 plus only. This was pointed to NEXA guys and they said the car needed to visit the work shop.

Attempt 2: This one was the 1.3. Reverse cam not working. Gears weren't smooth. Stering had issues. Once again the shocks were bottoming out. Number on Odo observed was 16,000. Pointed out to the Nexa guys, who replied the car has been test driven a lot of times so expect minor niggles.

Attempt 3 (Again 1.3): Touch screen issue. Rattles from near the dash. I didnt enjoy the drive at all. Did not note the Odo figure. Will take one more test drive when the new model comes in. Like I said, might have been plain unlucky.

Quote: Firstly, share the details of glitches observed.

Where are you located? I am sure you can catch up with some BHPian with S-Cross and check the car as the multiple TD cars have been plain unlucky in your case

My experience
S cross 1.3 2015 August purchased
Remapped by code 6 to 118 ps / 240nm
Tyres upgraded to 225 55 R16 Hankook Ventus
Current ODO reading 36200+ km

Shock absorbers are good
They have retained their Travel

S cross is prone to dashboard and trim rattles - I need to get them corrected at each service. It goes on without much rattles for 5k km and then the rattles appear
- Culprits - Door trim, Seat squeaks, Rear seat and boot lid cover
- S cross does rattle occasionally at lower RPMs
Remedy : Ask the SA to fix the rattles and they do a good job of it

GearBox
Has occasional slotting issues post 20k km
You notice that when you do spirited driving
Not as smooth as the 1.6 gear box and the old swift
I seem have clutch wear, as I abuse my clutch, but still the plates are holding on. Have not changed them yet

Reverse cam
- It does not function once every 20 attempts, though the image comes, gridlines are occasionally missing.

The TD car is often overused and not properly maintained.
I recently TDed the 1.6 which had 20k km on the odo. It did have rattles, but the shocks and gear box were perfect.

Re: Maruti S-Cross : Official Review

21 months and 26,000 km:

The left side steering controls suddenly stopped working. The service center guys seemed to know what the problem was right away. They turned the steering by 90 degrees and voila - they started working again. Basically they were working at all positions except the default ones.

Contact Coil was diagnosed as faulty and was replaced under warranty.

Re: Maruti S-Cross : Official Review

Had to cancel my Spiti trip due to the tension around Chandigarh Area, I was scheduled to leave on the 26th. Impromptu decision was made to drive down to Mumbai and beyond, reached home tomorrow after covering 1,417 kms.

Hi Sebring,

Sad to hear about your test drive experience with S-cross.
I assume, all test drives was taken from the same dealer and all their cars aren't maintained at all.

Suggest you to try another dealer. Facelift is also around the corner so might get a TD of that by Sept'17 end.

Re: Maruti S-Cross : Official Review

It is speculated that the face-lift of S-Cross will be offered only with 1.3 Engine.
