Super pics. I quite like that front grille and I remember from an earlier post that it was sourced from outside India. Has that changed now, is it available in India (preferably Mumbai)?

Thanks djkher.

That grille is not available in India. Mine is from China and recently many people have sourced it from Europe. It has to be hand carried to India, irrespective of the source.

It can happen if the cam is turned on while the SLDA is still initialising. The grid lines should reappear after few seconds i.e when the initialisation completes

Re: Maruti S-Cross : Official Review

I faced the exact same problem which was reported by Sree for his Scross Zeta. Entire coolant from the car leaked, AC stopped working and engine overheated to extreme. Rest details in my thread: http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/test-d...ml#post4416160

Any idea about this one or suggestions aboutany other options?
I've been using those for close to 3+Years. Those are good, however, after long usage, these springs become saggy. I would best recommend "Magnetic shades" over these.

This is scary, I have couple of road trips scheduled in the coming weeks. My car is just a few hundred kms short of crossing the extended warranty period.

A good friend spoke to his SC and they told him that will replace the part under warranty only if there is a leak, else it will cost 4,000/-.

I think this issue needs its own dedicated thread.

Why not have a pre-emptive check? If its about ruptured, then replace it, else put it back and drive. That shouldn't hurt or cost much. This problem has a 100% chance of getting you stranded on your trip.

I too am considering a new dedicated thread after I get the car back from service.

If this involves the DDiS200, then I think Brezza, Ciaz and Ertiga guys also should be worried. But if this is limited to S-Cross, I wonder what would be the reason? This issue indeed needs a dedicated thread. I'll have to get my Brezza checked for any such possibility.

Re: Maruti S-Cross : Official Review

I am getting apprehensive about the so called Maruti Reliability claims now. In just 26800 KMs, I had to replace the battery (not covered under warranty) and replace the Thermostat Valve (covered under warranty). If I had not realized coolant leakage in time, I along with my 75 year old father, wife and 9 year old would have been stranded on the highway (probably leading to engine seizure).

Maruti, the largest car maker in India, with very high service and reliability claims, should work more on diagnosis of cars when the cars come to the service centers for routine servicing. More so, if so many SCross owners have reported the Thermostat failure, why not do a official recall and save others from the trouble.

If I have to compare this experience with my humble 4 Lakh Rs. on-road costing Tata Indica Vista, I would say Tata Rocks ! In 72000 KMs running, the Vista only had one issue. The clutch plate gave up at 72k Kms and then the car had to be towed to service center. But I really got brilliant service from Tata at that moment. Besides the clutch plate, I had replaced the battery proactively at 65000 Kms.

After putting 3 times more money on SCross by getting car loan and all, I would say the experience is average satisfactory. The product is really good, a fantastic value for money, build quality, space, features etc..., but I am going to be stranded on road (twice already), then this all means nothing to me.

If I think of what other car company is more reliable, then at this moment, I really don't know. Each car companies have their own problems to sort out, but I feel to an extent, Honda is a bit better, based on all the reviews I have read and some first hand experiences from my cousins and friends.

Honestly, I am ready to put my money on a Polo GT TSI too, but VW is again a grey area.
