Re: Maruti S-Cross : Official Review

I recently covered a 1800 kms trip from Dhanbad to Lucknow.
Heres the milage I got with 100% AC From Tankful to Tankful method
Dhanbad to Varanasi and then to Lucknow 19.1 KMPL
Local in Lucknow 19.4 KMPL
Lucknow to Varanasi 21.1 KMPL
Varanasi to Dhanbad 25.1 KMPL. (left early, got empty roads)
I am happy with my car's milage
In this trip I have perfected the best milage/ Speed combination. Instant consumption was showing 28+ when i was driving in 5th gear at 75-80, then Again from 88 -98 it gives 30+ KMPL
Average drops after 110KMPH to 22-23 kmpl and to 15+ after 120 and 13+ above 120KMPH
Since I use Race Dynamics Chip , I have realised that P2 gives me better milage than E on highways. I was septical with average fuel consumption being shown on my last leg but was plesently surprised when it came out to be right in tank full method.

I wonder if good fuel consumption is also caused by Luqui Moly Diesel additive that I used when starting journey?

Thanks for the info. However, enabling developer mode didn't help and the android auto still freezes.

My steering column assembly got replaced today. Was under 4 yr extended warranty and got replaced free of cost.
Since my car was the first one to report this issue (Beyond the range of Chassis numbers identified), Maruti Regional Service Manager had to visit and assess the condition.

Also, One glow plug was faulty and giving the error of "Warning Pre heat system". That was also replaced.

Steering column assembly cost is 39K. No labor charge for replacement.
Glow plug cost was ~700 which I paid.

Wonderful service from SA Hemaprasad (Bimal Mahadevpura)

My 20k service is due now and the estimated cost as quoted by Nexa service centre is 10k. Is that right? Can anyone share their experiences? What are the parts that need replacing?

I had the 20k paid service done for my car in Aug and the total came to 10330

See attached image showing the details.

Things changed/serviced:

Engine oil

Oil filter

Cabin filter

Brake bleeding/cleaning/fluid

Add to the cost of above items - the labor and paid service charges

Hope it helps

Maruti S-Cross : Official Review-scross-2nd-birthday.jpg

Today, I have completed 2 yrs with my workhorse. The odometer is just a few hundred kms short of 93,000 kms. Unfortunately, the car is at MASS on its 2nd birthday, more details here. It will take around 10-12 days before she is back with me. No issues to report in the 2nd year of ownership.

What I like about my S-Cross:
- Ride quality on highways, very mature, she keeps the passengers comfortable.
- Brakes.
- Handling.
- Rattle free Maruti.
- Excellent fuel economy.

What I dislike about my S-Cross:
- Stock tyres could have been better, I suggest all new buyers to immediately swap the stocks after delivery.
- NVH.

My goodness, that is one heck of a running . After reading this, the first thing I did was to look at the number plate just to check if it was yellow colored, but I was wrong. Looks like you live on 4 wheels.

Jokes apart many congratulations on completing 2 years & 93K kms with your S-Cross. Here's wishing you many more (s)miles with your car.

Re: S-Cross'd : My 2017 Maruti S-Cross 1.3L Facelift

Took my car to a 1300 km long journey to Jaipur from Ludhiana. The performance was superb. Stuck to the speed limits due to excessive checking in Haryana and Rajasthan. Did rev up the engine at a few places. I think now I have got used to the car. Earlier I felt it to be powerless but at right RPM levels the car gives a good feel. Overall for a 1300 km trip out of which 200 was in the city I got a mileage of 20+. With this trip, the car also completed its 20,000 km run. 7 months and 20,000 km have been a very good journey. I have just fallen in love with my S-Cross be it city ride or highway drive the car is smooth like a feather.

No rattles till now, no issues at all with the car functioning. All matrices are bang on. Just the front tyre got punctured twice in the past one month. The same tyre twice, imagine the bad luck. Tyre condition is good.

What I like best about the car is the comfort to the driver as well as the co-passengers. Enough leg space and ergonomically designed seats are a blessing for the travellers. In the past 7 months, S-Cross has made me it's die-hard fan so much so that I have virtually stopped driving my other 3 cars.

Re: S-Cross'd : My 2017 Maruti S-Cross 1.3L Facelift

Got my 20,000 km service done today. As usual Nexa experience is world class. Went according to their manual. Also got wheel balancing and alignment done from them. The advisor told me that balancing was done for all 4 tyres but charges were made for only 2 of them. The total bill which was orally communicated before the print was Rs. 8,700. Negotiated a little and got it done for Rs. 8,000.

Snapshot of the bill!!!

Re: S-Cross'd : My 2017 Maruti S-Cross 1.3L Facelift

When I went for my 20,000 km service today the advisor told me about a prepaid service package that will be valid for 36 months from the date of purchase of the vehicle or 60,000 km whichever is earlier. The total amount they are asking for is Rs. 34,000 for almost 4 remaining services till I hit the level of 60,000 km. The actual amount of services including labour, parts, wheel balancing and alignment come to Rs. 38,700. So this converts to an effective discount of around 12%. The advisor asked for my go ahead but I objected that the discount offered is too less considering Rs. 34,000 will be parked with the agency. I would like to know member views on the issue and then take a decision. Attaching the screenshot of the estimate that was shared with me.

I am pretty sure that the air filter is a part of the PMS 20k (Paid Motor Service) . Leo should be able to confirm.

Here is my 60k bill without this part mentioned. I am very sure that this was changed, as I had inspected this myself by opening the air box.

PMS 30k, 60k, 90k includes EGR cleaning included, hence the higher amount for that when compared to PMS 20k, 40k

Since its under warranty, glow plug not covered for replacement?

Re: Maruti S-Cross : Official Review

I got to meet Mr. Chandra from Delhi again who has the highest run S-Cross 1.6 in our group. He has driven alone all the way from Delhi to Manipal. We met today .

Present ODO of his car
Maruti S-Cross : Official Review-img_20181112_215016.jpg
The car has also been remapped by Wolf Moto. He had used only Mobil 1 0W40 fully synthetic oil since 10k KM's on ODO. The engine is lot more smoother than my car which runs on Mineral oil recommended by Maruti. He has not faced any major issues till date. Front brake pads were changed once and the car is still on first set of rear brake pads. It was really good to see S-Cross 1.6 doing very well with close to 1 lakhs KM on ODO.
