It's a very good upgrade and sound quality is way better than stock setup.

I don't have latest update as have moved to a Hexa since last three years

The upgrade is good over basic oem setup. If you like bass heavy then you would like it. The newer factory setups from tata, Hyundayi are much better. If you prefer clarity and quality over bass, then look for infinity etc.

However the setup is quite reliable and it worked flawlessly till I parted ways with scross recently. The good bit is it's a plug and play woofer setup. But you will find much better setup outside with similar or lesser quotes.

Same issue for me. Happened after low fuel warning. I'm positive the fuel is damn good as I've been filling from that fuel station for over a decade now. All the 730 Km nothing, and then the low fuel warning comes up. Went home, stopped & started, then the warning showed up for next 6 Km. After that stopped & nothing shows now except low fuel warning.

Yes ofcourse, I had a water wash last evening followed by short rain

In dilemma whether to take to Nexa or not because I've to drive back to Chennai in next 3-4 days

In last 4 years, many owners have faced this issue when the fuel level is around minimum. In almost all cases, the warning disappeared after shutting & starting the engine again. Seems like Scross has a moody sensor in there.
If you are filling from a good fuel station, nothing to worry at all.

S Cross 1.6 Clutch Fluid Pipe Broke

I have an S Cross 1.6 Alpha 2017 model. Except for the lockdown blues it was used regularly(30,000 km). I took a drive last week from Kottayam to Bangalore and all was well until I reached Koramangala Club, where I had booked my stay. Just as I was going to park the car into the club parking, the clutch conked. The pedal was all the way down and I couldn't shift the car from neutral. Panicking, I searched for the nearest Maruti Workshop and contacted Suraksha Car Care. In no time a mechanic (his name was Hari and all praise for him). In no time he sensed the fault and the car was towed to the workshop, which was nearby.
The problem started when they started sourcing the spare. None was available in entire Bangalore. I contacted NEXA customer care and they intervened and communicated with Suraksha Car Care people.

I had to extend my stay for a couple of days as it took 3 days for the spare pipe assembly to come. The entire bill came to Rs.4300 including towing charges.
I have extended warranty and does this come under it??

I would like to know whether this is a common fault?

Re: Sudden appearance of all warnings on the console and persistence of malfunctioning signal

I was returning from Goa tour to Mumbai. Near Pune suddenly car engine stopped while car was running at 80 kmph. Steering got heavy and all the warning lights appeared on the console/MID. Tried to restart (in running position) while slowing down parallel, but failed to do so. Somehow, stopped the car going from right most lane to left (as steering was too tight to operate).

Slowing down and stopping car took around 2-3 minutes. After stop, manually switched off all the buttons what so ever and took 2-3 minutes pause. During this time malfunctioning light alone was persisting. I tried to start engine for 3 times, it failed to start (cranking almost double time of usual). Took rest for 5 minutes and then tried to start gain. this time engine started, however malfunctioning signal was alone glowing. With dilemma , i waited there for 10 minutes with engine rolling(as I have still to travel from Pune to Navi-Mumbai). With 10 minutes thought, I decided to go. Started from Pune, and realized that now Cruize is not working. Even Cruize indication on pressing button is not coming on console. Some how managed to drive at around 5-60kmph and reached native.

Car (1.3 Zeta 2015), still parked at parking and plan to go to workshop in weekend. Any fellow BHpian can suggest what so be the reason. I checked the coolant leak, and other visible indication, but to my surprise it was not there. A fellow taxi driver (with his experience) , asked whether you drove with power break 'ON'. Actually it was not the case.

Only thing I observed when stuck in Pune, that coolant box (under hood) was so hot. I drove from Kolhapur to pune , non stop around 230 km and cruising around 80-100kmph.

Planning to go

Re: Maruti S-Cross : Official Review

Parted ways with my beloved S-Cross 1.3 Zeta after 4 years -1 month-10 days and 53500 Kms.

Had changed the following parts during the ownership period. Tyres (39000 Km), battery (42000 Km), front brake pads (39000 & 52000 Km), suspension link rods (50000 Km), boot door hydraulic struts (just before warranty getting over), front left door handle (due to request switch not working), wiper blades (yearly once).

I never wanted to sell it, but the need of an automatic for wifey made the decision inevitable.
Initially planned to buy an AMT hatch and keep the S-Cross, but finding parking space for another car was the most difficult part. And other factors are the dislike towards AMT, cost of maintaining two cars etc. Also nowadays the S-cross is used only once in a month while going to native place and rest of the time it's kept in the parking space untouched; another car would make the S-cross stationary for longer periods.

I thought of exchanging it with S-Cross Auto, but Zeta Auto is expensive and 4 Speed Torque convertor does not look good (on papers, though it is not very bad to drive; and after say 5 years it would look so out dated and I fear there will not be any takers for it if I try to sell). Then there is rumours about the car being discontinued.

The post till here is part of this thread and the remaining part is

The other cars considered are
  • Sonet Diesel Auto, but it is way too overpriced and the HTK+ variant which fits in the budget lacks essential features. The rear seat is hopeless too, the under thigh support is very bad.
  • Brezza/Urban Cruiser - these are again 4 Speed Torque Convertors.
  • Nissan Magnite CVT - Offers decent space and thigh support and features at a very competitive price. It's the smallest car in the segment which is an advantage since a novice driver is going to use it more often, but its the lightest car too which is a concern. Also, it is a Nissan and how Nissan is going to flare in after sales service & support is another concern.
  • Kicks 1.3 Turbo CVT - Super comfortable and powerful, and good discounts can be worked out. Here the issues are - 1. Size, since the car is mostly for city use 2. Nissan's service 3. Mileage in City
  • Duster 1.3 Turbo CVT - Super comfortable and powerful. Issues are same as the Kicks + outdated interiors.
  • Used Creta Auto - Most of the cars listed in OLX/FB Market place are top spec variants and costs around 15L. A new Kicks/Duster top spec variant could be bought with that (after discounts). Here also the size is an issue.

Ultimately I am left with a no car situation and unable to decide on what to buy next. I want a car with good ground clearance which is compact, but then I want decent space in rear as I am moving from S-Cross

Brezza/Urban cruiser meets most of the requirements though they are not rich in features as their rivals, but the 4 speed torque convertor is a mental block.

Just an update for you - Like you said, absolutely nothing happened after that one of kind of instance. I should discard on account of moody sensor that's all. I refuelled afte that from MVPA IOL AMA, EKM BPCL COCO & Ulundurpet BPCL COCO after that incident & the drive was not just breeze, but very exciting as well.

Re: Maruti S-Cross : Official Review

Today is 5th Birthday of our 1.6 S Cross; have enjoyed many highway trips !

For the past few days, the steering feel has become little bit sticky. Anyone faced this situation!

Nowadays, also wondering about what car? Very difficult question, since this one competes with the cars in the next segment on the engine power alone. Any ideas about next upgrade are welcome (range 12-17 lacs)

This is a known issue and the steering column has been changed under warranty for some cars (including my 1.3). Maybe they'll cover yours under goodwill warranty, please get it checked.

Re: Maruti S-Cross : Official Review

Just returned back to Hyderabad from a week long trip to North Karnataka in my SCross. Odo reading ~81K kms.

The engine malfunction indicator on the display got activated on 30th Dec morning and then Cruise control stopped working. However all was back to normal automatically on the next day.

During the return journey yesterday, I felt the car to be too sluggish.
3rd gear max speed 70 kmph. After that no increase in speed even if you rev the engine to 3-4K RPM. Same on 4th gear @ 80 kmph. Crossing 90 kmph on 5th gear was next to impossible. 60 kmph to 90 kmph in 5th gear took around 45 seconds.

Can was serviced on 15th Dec.
Planning to visit the service center on Monday but before that wanted to check if any one has faced similar issue.

See above. Since your CEL illuminated, sounds like the O2 sensor/Cat, but it may well be a code for the MAF too. Best case it’s just a clogged fuel/air filter for the least damage to your pocket. If you have access to an OBD2 scan tool, the you should be able to read the exact stored code.

I am in the same boat looking to replace my 1.6 S Cross. Closest diesel options seem Compass and Creta / Seltos. Do update on your shortlist. Thanks
