My choice is Alloy A. Looks great with the silhouette of S-Cross.

I prefer alloys B &C.

Did a crude PS job to raise the bonnet. That changes the side profile dramatically!

I prefer A. However, other two in complete black might look better.

My vote is for A. Reasons:

1. All disc configuration is much more visible and prominent which is one of the S-cross' USP
2. The five double spokes look classy and sporty at the same time

On a different topic, do we have any idea on the sales figures for Aug as of now? Will be a very interesting read.

Regards
Anand

Re: Maruti S-Cross : Official Review

I test drove the 1.6 on Sunday for good 30 minutes. The 1.6 is a gem of a engine. The smile it puts on your face when you accelerate is just too good. The suspension is too good and the vehicle masks speeds very well. Some of the questions I had asked my RM was

1. About service costs for 1.6 vs 1.3? He conveyed they are one and the same in comparison with 1.3 but will check and revert.

2. The throw of the headlamps of Delta and Zeta models vs the HID projector lamps. I wish they had dual barrel headlamps.

My heart is inclined more towards the 1.6 than the 1.3 after the test drive. The 1.3 definitely is not sluggish as I drove that as well but the torque of the 1.6 is just addictive.

5. Having said that it's better than linea MJD and I witnessed it.
6. What it lost in sheer power, it makes up with braking and dynamics. You don't have to slow down in curves and small spead breakers and road undulations. I can compare it with Swift in the handling department. Even with JK's the ride is planted and not a single time it was nervous. The breaking is best I have seen in recent times.
7. Sound insulation can be better, but I think it will improve post 5000km.
8. And all these were complemented with awesome FE.
Total distance traveled = 890 km
Highway = 700km
city = 190km
Auto AC set at 22 with 4 people onboard with 3 luggages.
FE = 21.3 kmpl (Speed varied between 80-100 most of the time with some 120 sprints)
I literally completed this journey with a single tank full with still 6 ltrs fuel remained in the tank.
Thanks for sharing ! Good to see that you did not fall into the trap of high speed on road competition with other vehicles and maintained your sanity and speed on the road.
If only, everyone follows like you, we will all have happy journeys and not formula one racing on highway roads.

Alloy A or C, but the Alloy C you show looks to be dark grey than matte black as you have stated. Hence, if it is the same colour as above, I would prefer C too. However, Alloy A gives it a Merc-types look

Maruti S-Cross : Official Review

I haven't test driven the S cross as yet, but when I saw it up close. It seems to have an understated yet meaningful look to it. It's no way a hatch and the only car that reminds me when I see the S cross is the Chevrolet forester. Yes, it doesn't look like a pseudo SUV like the Creta, but it's no way a bad looker. It would have been brilliant if the 1.6 was priced a little lower. 16-17 lakhs for a 1.6 which end of the day has similar 0-100 numbers of a VW TDI just doesn't make sense. But anyway the engine is not Maruti's so understand the cost factor. Yet I do appreciate Maruti for taking this step of providing another engine option. It's very unlike Maruti's conventional approach.

Accompanied my friend, who booked Alpha 1.3. After the booking process, TDed the 1.6 Monster. Lot of things have been said about SCross, one thing I feel missed out (or maybe I missed reading it) is; every time I slow down the car and accelerate (without downshifting from 2/3 gear) after that I was looking at the cars in the mirror and was like

Alloy A. Personally, I would go in for smoked alloys, they would look absolutely beautiful on this car.

And yes, like adtalwar mentioned, these alloys would show off the all around discs better than the rest.

Had the same thought in my mind and I love these alloys and eye them since they were launched on the Santa Fe.

July was 1510 units so expect a similar or slightly greater figure owing to dispatches to dealer all over the country (I mean NEXA's) so for getting the real figure one needs to wait for another 4-5 months.
