It's the same case on my car too. Not sure if its an issue. I don't have any issues in braking.

I am going in a for a full paint treatment and protection worth 12K. The car came with a lot of swirls because it was parked in the basement and the cleaning folks had a good time cleaning it "well" creating all the swirl marks. Luckily, I will be taking it to ultimate detailerz to get a ceramic coat and paint treatment.

Re: Maruti S-Cross : Official Review

Out of curiosity, are there plans to bring in the AWD version of the Scross to India?

Thanks Volkman, will get the steering cover done at Karlsson next week. (Indiranagar right?)

Have you got the underbody treatment done? 3M (JP Nagar) initially told me that the treatment was not required as the complete portion of the car below the front and rear seats are covered in a fiber like material (except the space for the exhaust pipe in the middle) and then as I persisted did the treatment for the remainder metal portions of the underbody. They were surprised looking at this fiber cover underneath. Any idea what is the purpose of these covers?

Maybe, it is some kind of damping material to reduce the road noise and intruding tyre noises from the underbody.

You got it right vin11. Visited the service station today and the SA told me that they were in place as noise insulation.

I guess this is the one that you are referring to?

Is it unique in SCross? I mean do we have that in cars like creta?

Still official review clearly states that sound insulation of SCross is below par.

Not sure of the Creta as I haven't checked that car at all. Not in my list anyway! May be Creta owners can help us out.

I found the NVH much better than my Swift ZDi and I was driving the DDiS320.

This is there in all cars nowadays. Nothing exclusive. This is just damping sheets which are applied for noise insulation below the carpeting on the floor as well as on the firewall.

This is just marketing from Maruti at work to make it look exclusive.

The Creta's NVH are better than the S-cross 1.3 and 1.6. The DDiS motors are not quiet motors by a long way.

The offer for 1.6 is mainly through finance scheme, and its not applicable for those who are opting for company car through leasing companies. This is the official response I got from Maruti

Do not get confused between Noise and Vibration. What most of the reviewers talk when compare Creta and Scross is about is the (Engine) Noise. This is radiated noise, depends on the Engine itself and the insulation. But Vibration which is structure borne and I believe no reviewer can declare one car a winner unless the difference is so obvious. Either you need to do a Shaker Analysis in Free Free condition (Body spring in air with week springs) and calculate the transfer function (Hammer Testing) or do a FE simulation. This is usually done with excitations at Mount locations such as Engine Mount, Suspension Mount, shock tower Mount subframe Mount etc.... With reaponse measured at driver comfort locations (Seat Mount, Steering, Pedals, Floor, Das and Roof).
I don't think anybody has these test done, so you can't declare one of the two cars a winner in NVH. A lot goes into Noise Vibration and Harshness.

Re: Maruti S-Cross : Official Review

3M super gloss on the roof with matt black under the grill, beneath the front number plate. Gives a block look to the front. Detailing next week.

Wow. These mods have changed your car's appearance by leaps and bounds! The matt black treatment on the front grill looks great.

If you remove Suzuki Logo this will probably qualify as Baby Audi overall looks very neat work and your choice of Alloys is equally impressive.
