Thank you Dr.Naren and Keynote for clearing up the confusion

Though its a long time from now, I will be heading to Spiti Valley in August. Will have to be careful with the nose and the exposed engine under body while tackling bad roads.

Quoting my earlier post. Here is the photo of the impact location. The white scratchmark can be seen.

Do keep us posted about the Spiti Valley drive. Got to know someone had a memorable outing in DDiS200 / 1.3 during their recent visit to Zojila Pass. I'm told details are posted in NEXA facebook page but never checked it personally though

Re: Maruti S-Cross : Official Review

I was inspecting the engine bay and found the MAP sensor. It's located at rear side of engine and made by Bosch, Germany. Using the Bosch part number, I gathered some info. The sensor is rated till 3 bars and also has temperature sensor integrated.

Pressure range (bar): 1.1 - 3.07 (11-307kpa)
Voltage limitation (mV): 250-4750
Number of ports: 4
With Integrated Temperature Sensor

Any update? How is your car doing now?

I have covered around 3,000 kms since the wiring harness replacement, no issues to report so far.

3M clear windshield solution : Say goodbye to streaks

My stock wiper blades were leaving streaks and I wanted to change them with new 3M wiper blades. It costs around 1600Rs for frameless and 600 Rs for framed wiper blades. 3M Mysore did not have the wiper blades in stock and they adviced me to try 3M clear windshield solution. It costs only 70 bucks. I was very impressed with the results. Posting the videos to demonstrate the same.

Stock Wiper blades : Regular water (notice the streaks)

Stock Wiper blades : Regular water + 3M Clear windshield ( no streaks)

Note : Do change the wiper blades if they are worn out. But this solution does the magic for sure. I would need to change the wiper blades soon.. Not sure if this solution would do anything to windshield and help during rains. I think it should be working well only when you use the tank water for wiping.

Re: Maruti S-Cross : Official Review

Adding one more to the Smaller yet significant things list :

S-Cross has windshield washer fluid level gauge and helpful to know the amount of fluid left. I have not seen this in other cars in my garage

Thanks Dr.Naren for this wonderful piece of information. Excuse me if this a lame question - Would this retrofit require any alteration to the halogen reflector in Zeta, OR it is a direct-swap there too as in Alpha?

For lower lower variants of S-Cross :

1. Headlights need to be opened

2. Bixenon Projector retrofit is done on stock reflector. Only few bigger projectors like FXR need cutting of reflector. But, you can go with Morimoto Mini D2S 4.0 / XP Mini D2S 4.0 / XP Mini Super V3 (no cutting of reflector)

3. Headlights are resealed : best is to use butyl sealant

For Alpha Variants :

Same as above.. But stock projector is removed and new one is made to fit inside stock shrouds. Here, we should choose a projector which perfectly fits into the stock shroud. Morimoto Mini D2S 4.0 retrofit has been successful in S-Cross Alpha variant.

That answers it, thanks.

The Alpha 1.3 is priced over Zeta by around 1.7 lacs here in Pune. Just wondering if I should risk my warranty and do it, considering that I can live without the other differentiating features:
- Silver roof-rails (Even the black ones don't look bad as they go with the cladding-theme)
- Leather Seats (I can definitely get better seats for about 15k)
- Auto headlamps (Nice to have, but I hardly need this one)
- Rain-sensing wipers (I prefer these to be manually-controlled)
- Leather-wrapped steering wheel (I have found guys here who can give the same OEM-fit for about 2-3k)

Your views?

Stock Bi Xenon projectors in Alpha are just average. Definitely needs an upgrade. Go for Zeta 1.3 and customise as per your need.

Hello,

What is the solution to water ratio to be used? Or just empty the whole packet/bottle in 1 go and top it up with water?

Cheers,
Vikram

It's a 50 ml bottle. You can use the entire bottle in one go . This is available in all 3M stores.

You can check this Amazon link for more details :

Re: Maruti S-Cross : Official Review

Hi guys,

Got my 1st servicing done some days back. I was surprised to get a bill of Rs. 465 as I was under the impression that this should be free. When I enquired, I was told the charge was for 'cabin air filter' and some consumables.

Now, should the air filter not be fitted from factory as I do not understand the need of fitting it after the 1st servicing?

Even if for some strange reason, it is to be fitted after the 1st servicing, is it fair to charge the car owner for it as it is one of the components of the car, and as I have purchased a new car, I do not expect to pay to fit a necessary component to my new car, even if it is at a later date.

Attached is the bill:
