That's definitely a bit unfortunate for him i must say, after I managed to experience such efficient service today at BIMAL, Mahadevpura.

OT : Thanks to our friend Arun, who procured few Euro spec Grills from "the land of Vikings and darkness" - Sweden. If anyone is interested to see how they look on Granite Grey, have posted few customary snaps of the same after installing them. More pictures to follow, after our friendly magical photographer kpzen gives us an appointment with lot of kindness

Sir,
You are a MBBS doctor for human beings and also for cars!
I really thought that you are a technically qualified person in mechanical engineering with a specialization in automobiles.
But, now one can understand the involvement required for a MBBS doctor to talk on technical aspects of cars in full detail and authority.
Thanks.

See that you own a Maruti Swift and Ford Figo. Assuming both are of the same fuel type, can you post a comparison of the pros and cons that you saw including the personalization/feel good/peace of mind factors?
Yes both of them are Diesel and Swift is 10 years old with 2.1 Lakhs Kms on odo. Figo is 7 years old with 1.2 L Kms on odo. Here is my take on pros and cons. If I compare the Maintenance cost of both the vehicles up to 1.2 Lakh KMS Figo is on the lower side. The reason being every service bill is lesser than the Maruti. Also now a days Ford does not try to add anything extra which you have not asked for.

First Swift
Pros
  1. Reliable so peace of Mind. It has not left me stranded anywhere.
  2. Good Fuel Efficiency
  3. Easy availability of Service Centers and multiple dealers to deal with in case if you do not like one
  4. Better service center experience right from immediate attention as soon as you land in the SC, being courteous, listening to you and treating you as customer

Cons
  1. Wish it had better build quality
  2. Higher Maintenance cost and it is increasing at a faster pace all the time
  3. Trying to cross sell, adding what you have not asked for and charging you for that
  4. turbo lag till you hit 1800+ RPM
  5. Poor cabin insulation
  6. Jumpy ride in bad roads

Coming to Figo
Pros
  1. Good build quality
  2. Better Ride quality
  3. Better driving experience with linear torque
  4. Improving Service Center experience and quality
  5. Not trying to inflate your bill

Cons
  1. Reliability - stranded once due to Gear shift push has given up
  2. Not many Service center options if you do not like the one closer to you
  3. Now a days they take vehicle for service with appointment. Sometimes I could not get the vehicle serviced on the day I wanted because there was no slots available
  4. Some spare parts are not readily available so you need to wait

Re: Maruti S-Cross : Official Review

Maruti has introduced 5 years / 1 lakh km extended warranty package called "Royal Platinum" plan. It will be good option for S-Cross 1.6 owners. This has been introduced only few days back, expect an official announcement by Maruti soon

A quick scan of the pictures without reading the text had me getting the wrong sort of ideas. I thought Naren had posted in the wrong thread.
Imagine that you get rid of the packet and leave it in your glovebox. Then, an uncle/aunt/parent comes along and discovers it. Imagine trying to explain it to them.

Curious as to how it actually works. Do you have to rub it all over the windscreen?

The Manager says we have got new product and just takes this thing out from drawer. I did not know what to say

It's same as Rain X. It costs 450 Rs. It helps in repelling water droplets. Yes, we need to apply it all over the windscreen.

Re: Maruti S-Cross : Official Review

Sharing some information related to S-Cross :

1. If there is some sound while pressing brake pedal : brake switch has to be changed

2. If there is pulsation and vibration when braking : Defective brake discs and needs to be changed

3. Power loss issue in 1.6 : Rat bite on vacuum pipe and it needs to be replaced.

4. Power loss issue in S-Cross 1.3 : Vacuum actuator needs to be changed.

5. Another case related to clutch slave cylinder damage during bleeding

6. Fog lamps (outer plastic) melting due to bulb slipping.

7. Key fob not detected issues due to after market mobile phone chargers.

Also Maruti is very serious about after market wiring. If there is even one extra wiring : it would be registered. From now on, the customer will get SMS whenever the dealer registers after market / unauthorised fitment.

5 years / 1 lakh km EW package will be launched officially in November.

You know what, now that you mention it. Ever since I changed the brake release switch on the s-cross, the squealing sound, the one that feels like a baby crying is no longer present. I have not heard that since the replacement.

There is mild squealing sound even in my S-Cross. I will get it replaced under warranty and update here

Re: Maruti S-Cross : Official Review

Where is the god damn fuse box in this car??? Can you guys point out to me? I cannot believe that I cant find it. I think it is inside that black box underneath all that offwhite colour with wires sticking out of it. But, I cannot pry that box open. If I apply any more force to it, I think I might break it. If this is indeed the correct place, is there a technique to open that black box?
